GADawgs Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Pretty simple, Keitech's Fat swing 3.8-4.8 up to 3/8 oz jig head. Options are: 1) Powell Diesel 765 2) Powell endurance 714 3) Powell endurance 723 4) Carbonlite 6'6" MF It's the first time I will be throwing a swim bait and I am not sure which rod would be best. JGBassinAL Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Carbonline or Powell 723 whichever one has more give in the tip. I like more give in the tip when I'm fishing swimbaits so the fish can really get it in their mouth. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted April 24, 2015 Super User Posted April 24, 2015 Either the 723 or the Carbonlite. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 24, 2015 Super User Posted April 24, 2015 How hard would it be to try all four? I'm assuming you own them all. My bet is either 2 or 3 would be the two best. Quote
GADawgs Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 Good point there J. Looks like I know what I will be doing next time I hit the water! Quote
EmersonFish Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 You could try them all, but I'd focus on #2 and #3 see which one feels better to you. The 765 is too much stick, and the Carbonlite is too short for my taste. So maybe you should try it too. You might not mind the length. Of course, we also don't have the luxury of knowing what reel with what kind of line is connected to the rods you listed. If I had to guess which rod I would prefer, it would be the 723. Quote
