Joedodge Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Anywhere anytime! I fish them deep with a pegged weight or weightless if no wind. On a medium or MH spinning rod or baitcaster setup and on braid. Usually using culprit or metro baits big Toho 10 inch Quote

Joedodge Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I fish anything black blue laminate or flake, St. John's river red ( red with blue flakes) and watermelon red Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted March 14, 2015 Super User Posted March 14, 2015 They are great fished deep in the summer. I fish them post spawn to the turn over. I think there are better baits to fish pre-spawn and after the lakes turn over! They give off alot of action and the colors depend on the water you are fishing. Colors that I like are green pumpkin,June bug,Red Shad, Teq.sunrise, black, black grape, plum. Take a look at the Netbait C-Mac worms,to me they are the best ribbon tails worms on the market! most ribbon tail are more body than tail but the Netbait ribbon tails are more tail than body and that is what I want more TAIL ACTION. They have them in 7in.,11in.,15 in,. ! Iike the 15 in. in deep summer water. 1 Quote
Penguino Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I fish watermelon flake zoom ribbontails. They have proven to me to be better then the Yum Ferocity worms, and are somewhat durable. Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted March 14, 2015 Super User Posted March 14, 2015 Zoom u-tales. Red shad, black, and watermelon/red. I fish them from deep to shallow but mostly in the warmer months or when the fish want a smaller profile. Quote

Currently don't have any in the 7" size, but I love the 11" and 15". Last year I tried a new color for me, Sun Perch, and I hammered the fish on this color. Of course I only bought one bag at the time and now they cant be found anywhere. Berkeley Power Worm in 12" also caught a lot of nice fish for me last year in green pumpkin. When fishing the bigger ribbon tails I think I do something different than most guys in my area and I rig them on BIG shakey heads. They are very versatile and you can rig them about any conventional way that you can think of. tholmes Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 ok thanks what size wieghts do you usally use That depends on a few different factors. I usually use the lightest weight that allows me to maintain bottom contact. The size that I use most often is 3/16 oz. Lighter if I want a slower fall rate, heavier if the wind is blowing, or in deeper water. I rarely go lighter that 1/8 oz. or heavier than 1/2 oz. unless the wind is extreme. Then I'll go up to 3/4 oz. or even 1 oz. Tom 1 Quote

Super User eyedabassman Posted March 15, 2015 Super User Posted March 15, 2015 Yep. Just fish with a good rod & reel! Let the fish tell you how fast or slow and what color! Have fun! Quote
