I had the pleasure of attending the Bassmaster Classic this past weekend and meeting many wonderful bass fishing industry ladies and gentlemen, including one of the nicest and thoughtful individuals in the world, our own Glenn May.

Glenn was a gentleman and he welcomed me and my wife into the Bass Resource family with charm and grace.  Just wish Keri had made the trip and we could have met her.

One of the trip’s highlights was having dinner with Glenn, Steve Parks was an adventure.

Some of the pros I met included Clausen, Menendez, Gluszek, Cachere and a bunch of others who were manning the booths and signing autographs.

I met the inventor of the Rage Tail baits, Steve Parks, and did he give me some wonderful information on fishing the Rage Tails and what are some of the best colors to use.  Sorry guys, no sharing this data with you.

Spoke with Bobby from MegaStrike for a minute just to say hi as he was very busy in the Dick’s Sporting Goods area.

Also met the owner of Mann’s Baits and we discussed how his hard head baits can really put some nice ladies in your boat.

There was something new to see around each corner. In fact, I thought I had seen everything when I turned a corner and another section of booths opened up. Plus the guys and gals downstairs added even more exhibitors.

Catt will like to hear that I met two of Dr. Keith Jones’ research guys at the Berkley exhibit and we talked about baits, line and reels. I even got along with the Ole Miss mechanical engineer who designs the rods and we discussed rod construction in detail. Can you believe someone from Ole Miss is doing great with a northern company?

Too much to tell you about but believe me, it was worth a six and a half drive from Richmond to the show and I would do it again.

If anyone else out there attended the Classic how about sharing your input with us.

I really can't add much to what Sam posted. I met many of the same pros and he's right when he said there's so much to see!

One of the thrills for me was meeting and talking to Hank Cherry and especially Clay Dyer at the Livingston booth. Clay Is quite an Impressive Individual, his disabilities have not detoured him one bit and he's one of the nicest folks I have ever had the pleasure of talking to, in or out of the fishing Industry.

Another guy that stood out was  Alton Jones. A super nice guy and while I'm not at liberty to discuss what we talked about(board rules) I will say that his conviction Is quite Impressive! My wife thought the world of him.

I got a great picture with Jimmy Houston and both my wife and myself enjoyed the few minutes we got to talk.

My highest praise though will have to go to Bobby Uhrig.  I had met him before a few years ago and from that first time and everytime thereafter he is the same, simply great people!

I have been to several classics and each time I go they get better. I highly suggest if you get a chance to go you should.

Here's a couple photo's I got with two fine folks!

Awesome guys.  I went on Sunday and I missed so much it sounds like. There was just way to much fishing stuff to look at for my little heart to take. lol  Next time I hope to get to meet more of the bass resource family. Thanks for the good story's guys. also I made the mistake of taking someone who just isn't into fishing as much as me and the whole time I hear, What is the point of all this stuff? When do we get to eat? When is the scaling thing over?

Had a great time at the Classic as usual.  I finally got to meet Sam!  We had an awesome BBQ dinner with a big crew from BassResource.  :)

Met a lot of old friends and made a lot of new ones.  We have some really neat things coming your way soon right here.  It's going to be fun!

Oh, I almost forgot, I sat next to Bill Dance on the plane ride home.  And buddy, he can talk!  We had a great conversation about his childhood years and on up through his professional years.  Some fantastic stories!  I got a lot of (new to me) insights on the industry in the early years that's going to make some great trivia in the future (hint, hint).

I'm sorry I missed some of you.  The crowds were huge and time was short.  Maybe next year!
