Sorry about the title, it should say "what are you planning on getting at the spring..."

I'm getting excited about it as it starts tomorrow.

I'm going to stock up on Zoom products, Netbait trailers, Havoc Plastics, BPS and SK Jigs, and anything else on sale that looks good.

What do you guys plan to get?

Storm wiggle warts for $3.97! And some zoom chunks, gore-tex repair kit. I have $81 in gift cards.

I was planning on replacing my spinning rod with a Carbonlite, bps tungsten weights, fish grips, zoom products, net bait paca craws, power pro braid, and check out some casting rods. I have quite a bit in gift cards. Next year I'm going to ask for tw gift cards.

Headed to BP this morning. Trading in an old reel and rod I don't use. Plan on purchasing a Abu Garcia Revo  SX to go on a 7'6" Heavy Rod I plan on purchasing and also pick up one of the BP Qualifer reels. I probably will drop some $$ on other stuff too.

I plan on heading down to grab a PQ for $50 if they are the good ones and not the scaled down version which I recently was told about, but I like their rods, the Bionic blade Micro guide feels better than the more expensive one's to me and I need a heavy 7'6 spinning rod, and figure I can pick up a deal on a spinning reel like a Browning or Extreme. Then I will probably fill a few baskets of stuff I don't need if they do a good job with bogo's, bins with mixed baits, and if Bass Pro is going nuts, then so is Dick's and Gander...

I just spent $60 on terminal tackle and a few packs of soft baits on TW last night, jigheads are expensive, and so are good hooks and of course, leader....XPS is on sale bogo and I hear their Fluoro is good, but I finally trust Seaguar Abrasix....

I'm planning on getting a bunch of havoc plastics a few cranks and some terminal tackle. I have a few gift cards to bps so that's awesome.

Same here. I don't plan on driving to KC or Tulsa, so I get nothing.

I went to the local grocery store earlier this week and bought a BPS gift card because I get free gas credits for gift cards. I figured I was going to spend money on this Spring Classic sale (likely a PQ and a few baits), I might as well get 10 cents off a gallon of gas doing it.  I hopped on the BPS website this morning and it seems like the deals must be in store only.

I'm pretty bummed out because now I'm sitting here with a gift card that only does me any good if I drive to the store. I live in the city of Pittsburgh and our closest BPS store is 3.5 hours away. 89 stores and nothing close to a major city like Pittsburgh. I just don't get that strategy.

I looked at the advertisement, and I didn't see much of anything that I want/need this year.  Overall, them condensing the event to 1 week and moving to the start of Feb has been a disappointment for me.

I am picking up reel grips, stik-o's, Arashi crankbaits, spinnerbaits, Zoom Super Flukes (White Pearl), Zoom Trick Worms and still contemplating if I'm going to get a rod or reel or both.

Posted

I went and i picked up some flicker shads stik-o's another z9r perch and a chatterbait. i totally forgot about the whole rod and reel trade in so im gonna go back sometime this week to do that and maybe pick up an arashi storm or two while im there.

Good call. I got the "scaled down" version on black friday in 2013 and it has been a decent reel, but no where close to as good as my brother's "real" PQ.

What do you mean scaled down version of the PG? I have 3 of them and just bought another and haven't noticed a difference.

I was at mine in canada today.  Picked up 4 packs of zoom soft plastics and 3 basspro planos and was out the door.  In canada there is a competitor that is cheaper on most things by 10 -20percent all year.  Then they have 15 percent off everything in the store this week.  I did try  to talk myself into a pq but didnt feel nearly as good as my tournament mgs in my hand.

They are talking about the Silver Edition PQ. The Silver edition was supposed to be a "special buy" and then it turned out to be much worse than the original. It was made in  china, had cheap internal parts, and a plethora of other problems.

Was a tad disappointed in this years' sale.

I wanted to see a broader sale on terminal

tackle as in years past (at least to my recall).

Wish local BPS kept the old black Carbonlites

in stock rather than sending their stock back

to corporate.

But, I bought 1 bag of Zoom Finesse worms in

Sprayed Grass (to try out), and a 50 count bag

of Junebug Stik-o's.

On that, I wish BPS offered more variety of

Stik-Os in the 50 count. Would like to have seen

some 4" versions in Watermelon Magic, heck,

any in that color. But hey, was a good deal, and I'm

determined to have success with Junebug, so

there ya have it!

Yeah I wanted to grab a bag if they had it in 4".  I ran out of that size last year.  The 5" does decently, but I have a lot of bigger ones that I can't seem to catch anything with.  So I came away with none.

For sure, I'll be getting a pair of WWS Blue Water Oxfords as I've been waiting for them to be on sale. Maybe a couple of bags of Stick-Os and a T-shirt or two.  I don't really need much and I plan on leaving the charge cards at home.  Now if I can just stay away from the boat displays, I should be okay.

I traded in an old Zebco 33 combo ROD….I got 4 Pro Qualifiers…two in 6.4.1 and two in 7.1.1, a new model carbonlite rod in 7MH and a 6'6 MH Lightning rod for spooks, pop'rs, etc…maybe should have gotten it in a Medium for more bait working action…Today I crappie fished all day so now I want to go back and get some crappie rods!  Too crowded tomorrow…I'll go Monday on my lunch break.
