Okay, let me explain. I ordered a new Falcon Lowrider spinning rod. Just checked, Amazon says it will arrive Monday.

Also says it's out for delivery now. USPS tracking says it will be here tomorrow. So, today, tomorrow, or Monday.

Wonder why they skipped over Saturday?

If it is one of those deals where UPS or someone delivers it to the Post Office and the postal system then delivers it to you....good luck. In my experience tracking those deliveries is useless and frustrating. Twice the tracking had said an it's was delivered to be on Friday but it didn't show up till Monday.

But congrats on the new stick! Hopefully your water is soft enough to test drive it soon.

I hate usps, I have bought 4 reels off the internet this month, and usps has handled all of them. Two of them took almost two weeks to get to me, and one of them showed up to my house as an empty package with a sorry letter from the post master. I know that seller was happy, there was $50 insurance on that new quantum exo 100hpt that the post office "misplaced"

The last reel I bought, I woke up and checked the USPS tracking to see where it was. It said it was in New Jersey. That evening, we were leaving for dinner and I almost kicked the box off the porch. I never trust that thing.

yep, here is my experience with USPS.  Look at the box in the background this reel has never worked right since getting it.

UPS or nothing for me.

I've found that Bass Pro's "SmartPost" option they use is about the worst I've ever seen. I had a rod and reel, ordered at the same time, shipped at the same time, arrive 3 days apart.

It's one of the same things where FedEx handles the long distance transport, then the USPS handles the final leg.

The rod shipped from MO, pretty much straight to me (using their hubs), but the reel went from MO, to LA, to OH, to KY, then finally to IN. Never could figure that one out.

I've figured out though the tracking systems for USPS only works as good as the people who input the data. UPS updates the tracking each time it's scanned. But I've had USPS stuff say it's still In-Transit or Out for Delivery 2 days after I got it.

Wow, I've never had a problem with usps. Now ups and fed ex on the other hand...

All of my orders this year have used the smartpost delivery system. I will admit, tracking them can be quite amusing in regards to how they get from point A to point B. But the bottom line is if they are delivered on time. So far each has been delivered ahead of schedule.

This right here. I have never gotten one past the "estimated delivery date", but I have gotten them earlier, many times.

I just found it amusing that I, right now, am given three different arrival times. I am inclined to believe tomorrow will be the real date.

Today, impossible. It left Dallas Fort Worth last night at 9:35 pm. It's just slightly over 14 hrs. straight through to Cincinnati.

That would put in Cincy no sooner than 11:30 am today. My mail carrier is not going to go back to the post office and pick it up, I'm

sure.

You're just suffering from impatience it is all.  It doesn't help the water is hard.  Relax, it will show up eventually.  :laugh5:

Because it's cost less for USPS.

Well, received my rod just now. The guides are so far out of line with the reel seat you wouldn't believe it. The guides are almost a quarter turn off. Already contacted them to ship it back for a replacement. I have bought rods online before and never had a problem. So I really can't complain.

UPS or nothing for me.

I doubt the box getting dropped hurt that reel...it was most likely a dud.

Ive put some reels through some rough times and they still work fine...way worse than ups or usps lol

Hootie it sounds like you received one of those semi-spiral wrapped rods. It will probably work fine! Just kidding. Good luck with the replacement. Maybe it will be delivered Saturday?

That sucks. The last falcon bucoo rod I bought had the same problem. I don't see what's so hard about giving these rods a quick check before they leave the factory. I mean how many rods can falcon make in a day?

I use USPS on a regular basis. I actually depend on them for most of my "income" I've had about a 3% damage rate with them. With my limited use of FedEx I've had about 25% damage packages and none with ups.

Yeah, I've used all three services and have never gotten a damaged item. This was just a defect coming out of the factory.

My experience with receiving deliveries has been near perfect with UPS, fair with Fed-Ex and horrible with USPS.  The shipping where Fed EX gets it close & then hands it off to USPS is the worst.  I have had packages just plain lost, where BPS had to step up & resend.

However, I have found that service quality is really dependent on where you live.  My brother is in Colorado & their experiences with Fed Ex & UPS is a complete reversal of ours here in Southern California, Fed Ex is real good while UPS is fair to middlin'.  In fact, I shipped a TV to them once via UPS and it arrived looking like it had been dragged behind the truck.  Amazing to me because as I stated, our UPS service here is dependable & timely.

However, we both find USPS to be the equivalent of an old rusty hook.  Just useless, causing more damage than good.

It must depend on where you live. I've never had an issue with usps. Everything I've sold on ebay (thousands of items)I've shipped priority mail and never had one single issue. It's faster than ups and FedEx, plus they deliver on Saturdays. It seems like ups just takes forever. Fed ex would be my choice over ups. I'll never use ups again period.
