Super User flyfisher Posted December 26, 2014 Super User Posted December 26, 2014 is that earlier than in year's past? For some reason i always thought it was in February... Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 26, 2014 Author Super User Posted December 26, 2014 Yes, it is earlier. No idea why other than scheduling problems. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 26, 2014 Super User Posted December 26, 2014 Maybe i will check it out....I skipped it last year because the few years before i just wasn't that impressed. The clinics were good though for the most part. Quote

USCG_Anthony Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 never been to the richmond expo and was wondering are the vendors showing new products and such? also are there people just selling lures and stuff at discounted prices? looking to learn some stuff and pick up some new gear Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted December 27, 2014 Super User Posted December 27, 2014 I'm a little excited. I'd probably be more stoked if they had firmed up a schedule and posted it. Strange that there is so very little info online yet. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 27, 2014 Author Super User Posted December 27, 2014 Yep, discounts are given. Check out the Green Top area and see what they are offering. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 1, 2015 Author Super User Posted January 1, 2015 is that earlier than in year's past? For some reason i always thought it was in February... Fly, was updating my 2015 office and work wall calendar and I noted that last year the Expo was at the same time. The Expo was in February and it paralleled the Green Top and BPS sales. I guess things change for some reason or another. So if we have the Expo in the middle of January and the Green Top and BPS sales at the end of February we should start to feel better about 2015 and our upcoming days on the water other than being kept in the house all winter. Super User flyfisher Posted January 1, 2015 Super User Posted January 1, 2015 You are right i do remember the expo being the same time as the Bass Pro spring sale too...I am actually debating on heading out today it is a semi-tradition for me to go out fishing on new years day and have had some really good success when doing so. The worst though was one year i caught a citation sized bass on January 1st and i thought i was gonna have a great year....that was my only citation sized bass of the year lol oh well Quote

WdyCrankbait Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 How about in front of Priority James River Fishing Tournament Trial booth at 3? http://richmondfishingexpo.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/RICHMOND-2015-Layout.pdf Sam, when are you there tomorrow? Also, what did you see good today, I am sure you went. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted January 16, 2015 Super User Posted January 16, 2015 I went today, got there at 10:00 when they opened and left about 3:30. Nothing special over last year. I just talked to a lot of people. Got an Eliminator from Robbie Patterson (Propeller Dyamics) for my trolling motor. Stop by and check them out. Take the time to go to the Navionics seminar. Thomas Harris did a good job with his presentation. Sit up close to the front so you hear everything and can see his Lowrance unit part. Quote

Super User Sam Posted January 19, 2015 Author Super User Posted January 19, 2015 I went on Friday. Saw Bobby from MegaStrike; George from GMCO maps; Chris from VDGIF; Steve who used to work at Green Top for many years; and Robbie from Propeller Dynamics. I enjoyed myself and gathered a lot of information. What was the most surprising at the show was the Charger bass boat. Seems Charger, who is a quality boat from the Midwest, is trying got infiltrate the east coast. Right now the only Charger outlet is in upper Baltimore but the company rep told me they are looking for local retailers in Virginia. It is my understanding that Charger is on the level of Ranger, Bass Cat and Skeeter. Would love to have them expand their area into Virginia and along the east coast. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I was not able to stay as long as I wanted. The wife said she wanted to go eat, five minutes into being there. Mmmm, I did get my hands on a 13 casting reel, I have been curious to palm one of them. Talked to Matt Cashion of Cashion rods, and that was it. Next year, wife goes without me, different time I go. Super User Choporoz Posted January 20, 2015 Super User Posted January 20, 2015 Spent a few hours on Saturday. Sorry I missed the 3PM meet-up. Lost track of time. My wife and I watched a few seminars - Bobby's was great, as was Davy Hite's. The college kid (sorry I don't recall his name or school) did a pretty decent job talking flukes, also. I did let the monkey drag me back to 'Dave's" a couple of times. First I'd heard of them, but I liked the folks and the selection, not to mention that their own stuff looks pretty good. I also spent some time with the Wilderness rep at the Appomattox River Co. booth. Good dude and good info....Enough so that I went out yesterday and bought a Wilderness kayak...lol. 1 Quote
