Super User 00 mod Posted November 16, 2014 Super User Posted November 16, 2014 http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11885343/will-muschamp-return-florida-gators-coach-next-season Who says Florida will throw big money to get Mullen back? Who are the other candidates on top of the list? Bob Stoops? Rich Rod? Hugh Freeze? Jeff Quote
Crappiebasser Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Mullen would be a good choice. As a UGA fan, I vote Lane Kiffin. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 16, 2014 Author Super User Posted November 16, 2014 My preliminary crystal ball says Mullen to Florida and Fuente to State. Jeff Quote
BassSlayer71 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Mullen maybe now that they lost to Alabama this weekend. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted November 16, 2014 Super User Posted November 16, 2014 Maybe Urban Meyer, not. 1 Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 17, 2014 Author Super User Posted November 17, 2014 I heard BP as well. We don't want him back in the SEC. Lol Jeff Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted November 17, 2014 Super User Posted November 17, 2014 isn't gruden the guy they say every time a coaching position opens up???? Quote
Jd_Phillips_Fishin Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 stoops wouldn't be a bad choice Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 17, 2014 Super User Posted November 17, 2014 I was disappointed to hear what the University of Florida did to their coach. He had them headed in the right direction----into the toilet. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 17, 2014 Super User Posted November 17, 2014 isn't gruden the guy they say every time a coaching position opens up???? Jon Gruden seems to like his current gig with ESPN, I don't think he's going back into coaching. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted November 17, 2014 Super User Posted November 17, 2014 It is roumored that Gruden might be interested in LSU. 1 Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 17, 2014 Author Super User Posted November 17, 2014 Gruden isn't leaving ESPN. Why would he? Easy job and great pay. He would have taken TN job is that were the case. Jeff Quote
BassSlayer71 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I hear they are going after Saban like Texas did... or at least, the Aubbies would hope... Quote
Super User Catt Posted November 17, 2014 Super User Posted November 17, 2014 Gruden isn't leaving ESPN. Why would he? Easy job and great pay. He would have taken TN job is that were the case. Jeff Les Miles makes $4.3 million a year I'm sure ESPN does pay that much! Gruden has said it would have to be the right team in the SEC, Tennessee ain't it! Quote
BassThumbAddict Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 why would stoops go to an equal program in a harder conference? I don't see rich rod getting another "big" job soon. Now Hugh Freeze there's a name. Gary Patterson if they can get him to leave, but after the season they're are putting up does anyone really see that? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 17, 2014 Super User Posted November 17, 2014 Although I have no idea what ESPN pays, I don't think Gruden is so much money oriented. The guy has been courted to some extent by at least half the teams in the NFL and every college team that needs a new coach would love the opportunity to have The Man at the helm. I don't think he is going anywhere. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted November 17, 2014 Super User Posted November 17, 2014 isn't gruden the guy they say every time a coaching position opens up???? next time i will prominently display a smiley face to adequately convey my sarcasm..... 1 Quote

BassSlayer71 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Why is it the same names always come up for these things? Stoops isn't going to leave Oklahoma. Gruden is happy at ESPN. Petrino I could actually see as he would want to make a come back. But I don't know if Florida would go that way. Kiffin would probably be a train wreck esp after what happened while he was at Tennessee. Quote
TNRanger Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Muschamp to Auburn as DC Mullens to Florida as HC Who cares who replaces Mullen? Quote
einscodek Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Talk about a high pressure cooker of a job. To follow up Spurrier and Meyer at Florida even with the talented recruiting classes they get year after year is a tough task.. esp when depending on the schedule you can be facing several top 10 teams from the SEC East and most likely the stacked West.. and be expected to return Florida back on top of the SEC heap.. tough task ..and if you want Muschamp to Auburn.. South Carolina would definitely like Ellis Johnson back.. please do it! but most likely tho .. itll be Muschamp to South carolina for the next campaign as DC Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 18, 2014 Super User Posted November 18, 2014 No Saban. No Gruben. No MSU Mullet. No Spurrier; No Cutcliff. Maybe a "Smart" guy who coaches defenses in the SEC? Or another proven coach who wants to rebuild a once proud program. Stay tune. Time will tell. Quote
