We've been into fishing and found our so called special go to or favorite lure , but how many more times have you changed it or did you change it to to where it became your favorite ? and are you thinking of changing it again? and why? i used to think an original rapala floating minnow was for a long time but now isn't, and found i replaced it with plastic baits , worms ,grubs,etc.. its still on my top 5 lures i put in use but not my #1 like my plastics . what's your op on your favorite and have you or are you thinking of changing it?

I try to keep an open mind about lures - every year something different works best, and I'm always eager to learn how to work new stuff.

That said, if I could catch them on a Super Spook Jr. all the time, I'd never fish anything else.

Let me say that my favorite bait is not my most productive. My most productive bait seems to change every year or two.  My all time and forever favorite is a Spook. I can't throw one for extended periods anymore and my wrist will talk to me for a few days if I do, but it's still my favorite.  My all time top producer is a jig and I doubt that any bait will replace that.  Well, maybe a plastic worm, or a crankbait, or maybe a ................

I've had the same favorite lures from almost the start of my fishing days. My dad has been tournament fishing from well before I was born. So when it was time that I could handle a tournament, I naturally picked up his techniques. Since then, I have held those same baits as my favorites and I won't hestiate to use them no matter the conditions.

I've added a few layers and techniques to help during specific times of the year, but my favorites have stayed the same and may always be that way.
