Bass XL Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I would love to use split grip rods, but I cant find any in my price range. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 11, 2007 Super User Posted February 11, 2007 That looks great. It's good to see you trying those buttons. They sure look nice. Quote
rosewalt Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Nice look, Is weight the only advantage to the split grips? Quote
Guest DavidGreen Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 rosewalt, Weight is the secondary advantage, the primary advantage is more sensitivity. Less cork in front of and behind the reel seat makes for less dampening of the vibrations moving up the line and rod blank. Tight Wraps All! Quote
vtbassin Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 ReelMech, Your use of the different burl rings makes a great looking handle :exclamation I think I see another new rod on the horizon George Quote
Guest DavidGreen Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Don't know what happened to the original post..... :-? Here a new look for me. 8-) I just did this extreme split grip on a 2s70mf blank. Used Andy's exotic burnt black for the comfort buttons fore and aft on the seat (DPS 17mm). The butt grip is Andy's burnt black and German brown burls, with the rubberized cork cap. Tight Wraps All! Quote
