OnthePotomac Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Here is a good series from Shimano. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLpO74dWuoE 1 Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Unless the video is of the exact same model they should be viewed as a rough guide, which is fine as long as you keep that in mind. NEVER open a reel without a schematic in front of you. The Shimano vids are ok as an interim service but by no means replace a frame off deep cleaning. Spinning reels can be tricky and vary more model to model. I'd keep DIY to cleaning and oiling visible parts. FWIW I offer members here a 10% discount which makes the cost of service <$20. Quote

Super User aavery2 Posted September 15, 2014 Super User Posted September 15, 2014 If you are over the age of 21 there is a video available. The name of it is "Debbie does Shimano" good luck. Quote
hatrix Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I did not post those thinking it was the same reel. I had watched a few other videos before like the shimano ones. The videos I linked the guy gets into detail with it. Quote

If you don't have someone experienced to work with you, it can turn into a hassle real quick. If you really want to break it down completely yourself, I suggest removing e-clips and other small, springy parts within the close confines of a large clear plastic bag. Better than nosing around like a hound on the basement floor... how do I know this...? Quote
