On your soft paddle tail swimbaits do you prefer a jighead or a weighted hook? Also what brands and sizes of jighead or weighted hook seem to work best? Thanx.

Almost always a weighted hook. But I also almost always fish lots of grass. That's just where the fish live for me. If I do use a jig head it is on a solid swimbait like a Keitech. They don't hold good IMO on a hollow one even though lots of people do it. I do use jig heads on hollow ones but it is totally inside the swimbait and is weedless and not exposed.

Size depends on the size of the swimbait but I would guess 4 or 5 is a general size. I actually don't pay attention to what size a hook was. I just know visually what size I want :P

Weighted swimbait hooks bring the weight further back and it swims more horizontaly. I like twistlock hooks. Size depends on size of bait.

Jig head moves weight more foward and the bait will nose dive more.

Yes.  Owner.  I like the hook gap to be twice the width of the bait.

If I'm swimming a bait shallow, around cover, I like a weighted hook.  The Owner Beast hooks are great.  I usually like a lighter weight, 1/8-1/4 oz.  If I'm fishing deep I like a jighead.  I want the bait to sink fast and be able to stick close to the bottom.  I will use weights ranging from 1/4-3/4 oz, depending on the depth, bait size and situation.
