Super User S Hovanec Posted September 13, 2014 Super User Posted September 13, 2014 Just cause they're on your smart phone app doesn't mean they're there. There's stuff on my both my Navionics chip and MapSource program that isn't actually on the lake. 3 Quote

I just had to back my self with some quality facts. (Rock piles that exist).. Bud, you can tell me there are piles of gold on your Navionics chip and I won't go searching for them. Dwight could tell me there are purple 15lb smallmouth on the moon and I'd be trying to book a flight. When it comes to smallmouth around here, if you want to BE the man you gotta BEAT the man. Wooooooooo! 6 Quote

Wooooooooo! Alright, I am convinced that SPEEDBEAD needs his own Topic. It can be simply called "SPEEDBEAD Speaks" and instead of a sponcer logo to the right, there would be a head shot of SPEEDBEAD with his beard in full effect. Glenn, what do you think? 1 Quote

GANGGREEN Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I got a chuckle out of this thread too. I will try to bring the topic back to fall smallies on Lake Erie and suggest that I was out on Sunday afternoon and water temps were 68-69 (Pennsylvania waters) so they're falling and things will be changing. Super User A-Jay Posted September 28, 2014 Super User Posted September 28, 2014 Bigger ones was coming in 11 fow during the middle of the day, when surface temps were around 65, they were biting on wind blown points Good to Know - Hoping to get down there in the next couple of weeks. Waiting for the water temps to drop a bit more. The ones we're looking for routinely come from cooler water. Thanks again. A-Jay Quote
z7master167 Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 My dad kept a few bass to eat, 3 had eggs in them?? Anybody know why? Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted September 28, 2014 Super User Posted September 28, 2014 Some fish hold their eggs & eventually they get reabsorbed. Normal occurance. 1 Quote
Rangerphil Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 All I will say is Dwight, A-jay and speed bead have always been very helpful and repectful to myself and everyone on here! Quick thought though, I can't believe how warm the water is still! Went to my local lake and it was still 68-70! Thought the water would be cooler by now! I am thinking about going up to Erie at the end of October but we will see! 2 Quote
ChrisAW Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I have a question pertaining to this topic a bit as well. Tuesday, we have a small tournament going on, kind of a for fun thing, but theres still a $240 pot up for grabs so I will take any advice I can. I have a general idea of what kind of lures I will be fishing already. Main question I have, is that this is kind of a Border War tournament MI vs. Ohio, and us Michigan anglers have very little water available to us. Have they been moving up more shallow by now? Or because there is not much water deeper than 20ft for MI waters, would it be a good idea to get an Ohio license to take advantage of more water? Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted October 2, 2014 Super User Posted October 2, 2014 I have been catching them from 35 to 15. They are just starting to move based on my experience. Since you are so shallow your water will be cooling a little quicker between now & Tuesday. The license thing with more water would be your call based on your experience. Are canadian waters an option? Quote
ChrisAW Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Its all open if we want to buy the licenses, some will some wont. If its worth it I would probably get it, but I would have to discuss it with my boater as well. Is fishing still usually pretty decent in Michigan waters? Im not expecting 25lb bags but if even 15 is unlikely I would probably try to get out MI waters. Quote
z7master167 Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 I caught 5 4lb smallies in 5 consecutive casts, on tubes in 11 fow Quote
