thunderballs Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Haven't been fishing bass for long. Stopped at a small pond today and threw around a jig. Caught 5-6 smaller ones, then this one! I don't have a scale, and didn't bring anything to measure it with because I just wasn't expecting to catch anything this big. Pretty hard to do I know, but any guesses on weight? 2 Quote
Greeneye8181 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Not sure it's hard to tell without knowing your height but I'm guessing 220lbs 5 Quote
chris55552 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 beautiful fish congratulations looks about 4.5-5.0lbs. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted September 6, 2014 Super User Posted September 6, 2014 Invest in a scale because you just never know what you might catch and when. Also it's all purely a guess without a scale. Quote

reb67 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 My guess 3 1/2 to 4 based on the size of his head the size of your hand the distanced between the tale and the marble size eye. lol It is very hard to say. Have you weighed other bass you have landed if so what is your best guess. Quote

Super User Catch and Grease Posted September 7, 2014 Super User Posted September 7, 2014 Nice fish! Quote
CDobber Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I'd guess 19-21" and around 4 lb Either way, its a fish to be proud of and glad you have a pic of it. Congrats on the PB! Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted September 7, 2014 Super User Posted September 7, 2014 Nice catch, that fish is a bit thin, a bit over 4, tail is damaged too, you catch that fish shallow? Nice fish, no matter the weight... Quote
thunderballs Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 I bought a scale tonight so it won't happen again haha. It was probably in about 5 feet of water. It was a fun catch either way, and is back in the water for another day. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted September 7, 2014 Super User Posted September 7, 2014 i say right around the 3.5 -4 mark nice fish man Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 7, 2014 Global Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 4 pounds would be a pretty safe guess I think. Quote
