TorqueConverter Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Walking the frog is a learning experience. Here's a couple things I've picked up: Not all frogs will walk and the one that do require a bit of trimming on the skirt legs to reduce drag. Sometimes adding a split ring to the bait can help it to break into that beautiful wide glide walk. If your rod is a absolute broom handle then it has a tenancy to yank at the frog rather than pull at it, making walking the frog very difficult. You'd be amazed how a a rod with some give in the tip will make walking the bait easier. 1 Quote

hatrix Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Good luck with a trailer hook on that rage toad. Unless its totally open water its going to grab something when it is upside down and a lot of times as soon as it lands. For the floating stanley frogs. The Top Toads could be awesome but it never seems to work well. First off the right hook even when I use what is recommended just is not right. It is a 5 or 6 and I even have them in the double take's and it doesn't seem correct. Hookups are also seemed few and far between with how it is designed. What made then run the best for me though was not having the hook completely wrap around the back and be totally on the outside. I just used a single and came through the hole in the butt and up out the top and then bend it out a bit so its not pressing up super tight against the body. I hooked way more fish after that. Quote
