Weld's Largemouth Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Hey all, This one pond I fish at is all about sight fishing. I saw 4 lber chilling in the shallows and I was determined to catch him. I threw a senko at first and he ignored it. I tried to get a reaction with a spinnerbait and fish swam off. And that was that. He was gone What lures are almost certain to get a bite if it lands right in front of a bass? Thanks Welds Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 19, 2014 Super User Posted August 19, 2014 Well first off everyone will say if you saw the bass it saw you. That is probably true but there are time that aint a bad thing, I fish a marsh that's all visual, you can watch the bass track & hit you lure. Second if it didn't hit a Senko you in trouble! I've had luck this year with a weightless Bass Assassin Tapout worm Quote

papajoe222 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 You can get any number of recommendations as to what lure to use (my vote is a shakey head). Regardless, you need to dead stick it. Cast whatever past the fish, slowly move it within inches of the fish's nose and let it sit there. Wait two minutes and if the her nose is still facing your lure, continue waiting until she takes it. If she turns away, go golfing. 2 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted August 20, 2014 Super User Posted August 20, 2014 1. Smack her in the face with a swimjig (not crank or spinnerbait as she will spook) 2. Downsize and put something in front of her but not too close. Weightless trig or shakey head perhaps. 1 Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted August 20, 2014 Super User Posted August 20, 2014 A small bait like a rage craw on a jig head of some sorts... 1 Quote
Chance_Taker4 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 The pond I mostly fish is sight fishing as well. I have found even if the fish has spotted me they cannot resist a roboworm rigged shakey head. I have been in situations were a senko has not got bitten and the shakey roboworm will.
