Personally I love wordens flat fish lures. But I never here anyone talk about them. Jiging spoons are never discussed, I have never used them. Ditto for chatterbaits. As far as bait common beatle type insects found everywhere. They kill panfish. Good for when your out of worms and don't wanna dig.

Gene Larew Salt Craws were a mainstay of mine in the early 90's texas rigged.  Just can't find the color I want anymore....they don't make Plum with chartruese claws or sliver claws anymore.  Those two color combos were killer.

I never go fishing without several jigging spoons. Not super exciting to fish but you can sure load the boat fast if you find the right school of fish.

I know there are people who still use them, but you don't hear much about the jitterbug, crazy crawler, or the bayou boogie.  I also use to have good luck with the thin fin.

A nice, heavy, tailspinner is a useful little lure that doesn't get talked about much these days.

Alabama rig, you almost never see the casual fishermen using it.

The Rig is not particularly successful this time of year, but fall through spring EVERYONE

around here that fishes from a boat carries a dedicated rod.

I live in south Georiga and regularly fish 2 places year round and never see people using them any time of year... But these lakes don't have a ton of people fishing them ethier.

Schooling fish will smoke an A rig.  I got third in my club tourny last week and the first solid keeper was on the A rig.  I have two rods designated for them.  The right rod and line combo makes a BIG difference.  They won't and can't catch fish if they stay in the box.

Bayou Boogie fan here! What a great lure that is.

I just started to use a Swim'n Image again. Found one a Dick's Sporting Goods for $2.00.

I agree with the flatfish. Flatfish for bass? Totally unheard of.

I try to keep it somewhat simple. I primarily fish for smallies. Traps, jerks, Senko, flukes, spinner bait, chatter bait, swim baits, tunes, and what I have in my box that I throw the least are inline spinners which is likely a mistake

Up until recently it was the chatterbait for me - I have a ton of them, and there have been entire years where I hadn't thrown one. Weather here as been exceptionally cool recently for summer and I have been tossing a chatterbait into the few remaining ponds that aren't completely choked with vegetation. Yielded decent results too - I'm starting to gain confidence in it if the conditions are right. Would like to see how it performs in spring.

A wordens Flatfish in gold which is as rare as hens teeth is a killer in the nearby water shed here. I got this tip from the kids in the old neighborhood.

I think the split shot rigged worm is very under used. Probably because the presentation is very slow.

Manns minus 1s, have been pretty successful along the banks in the shallows, and ticking the tops of weeds. Baby Bass ;-) Don't hear allot about them.

I caught my first pike on a flatfish when I was about 6 or 7.

My most under used bait is a senko, great fish catchers but I don't enjoy using them.  As of late my most used lures are jigs that I make myself, not only do they catch fish but the personal reward level is high.

Have you ever tried to cast a flat fish! Lazy Ike has a similar wobble and cast good.

I fish structure spoons year around and there are some good threads if you search this site.

One of the most effective bass lure that is rarely used; a hair jig with real pork rind trailers. A few anglers will try these during the winter they work great year around and pros keep them under wraps.

Another forgotten lure is Little George type tail spinners and Swarming Hornet under spins, very effective lures.

The Scrounger is another forgotten lure.

I don't own a boat us all I do is cast. Anyway I appreciate the tips from everyone. Also senkos have to be the most popular lure there is. So dang expensive though. Round here 7 or 8 bucks for a little pack. I don't really use them much. I'd rather sling a Rapala original floating minnow or the likes, both catch fish great though.

I'm another one that doesn't really use Senkos as much as I probably should.  I keep a Rage tail tied on at all times but hardly use a Senko.  Maybe I'll make it a point to up my Senko use this fall.
