bulldogfandan Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 The other day, I purchased a 330 us spool of stern fishing line. Unfortunately the diameter of the line was just a little to big for my broadcaster so it wasn't spoiling correctly. By the time I figured this out, I had already put line on the reel, and cut the line. I tied a knot between the line on the reel and the remaining line. Do you think it would be okay to return the line to the store? I got it from academy.
Super User aavery2 Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 It sounds like it was your mistake and you also opened and used the product. It sounds like you may have to eat this one. 3
Super User K_Mac Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 I am not sure if you are just rattling our chain or are serious about taking the line back having cut it and then decided you had bought the wrong size. My answer in either case is no it would not be ok.
Super User F14A-B Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 No, it would not be proper to do that, as has been said by the guys above. Just learn by you're mistake, and always do the right thing! Good luck !
Super User WIGuide Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 No, most definitely not! Think of it this way, how happy would you be to buy a spool of line only to find out that it had been cut and tied together?
LunkerFisher Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 you can always save it and use it as leader material. I have a spool of 17lb stren that I spooled up a reel with, and have since taken it off, so now i use it for topwater leaders since it floats so nicely!
Super User tomustang Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 Save it, you'll eventually use it some day
Super User Choporoz Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 I don't see a problem. Since Stren and the store made you buy the wrong line, then, by all means, take it back. 1
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 Check out our very own "Fishing Flea Market"... with only one cut, the spool must be a 9/10. oe 2
Super User FishTank Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 If the line was defective, maybe... But if you bought the wrong size, then no.
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 This is the silliest thread I have every read. Good night Irene. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator 6
