Well, my wife finally agreed to let me get a bass boat. Only catch, I had to sell my kayak with electronics in it, etc. So I did. Only issue now is that I am back to bank fishing and using my friend's pelican 2 man bass raider a couple times a week with him. Not too bad, but right now I feel like I lost some independence. I have a few more months before the money is ready, but a guy wanted the kayak at a great offer and I had to take the $$$ to put in savings. :-(

Take your time and find the right deal for you. Check it over well before you buy. Impulse buys usually turn out bad.

Just think of it this way. In about 3 months, there are going to be a lot of bass boats for sale to fill up Santa's Sleigh. Good things come those who wait, or so I've been told. Hang in there!

You could always do it Alabama style with a pool noodle and a trolling motor...

I feel your pain. I sold my boat a few months ago to pay some stuff off so I would be able to afford a new bass boat in the hopefully pretty near future. Thankfully my brother in law just bought an 08 Stratos so he no longer had a use for his 15' johnboat so I'm using that for now on the smaller lakes, but I know the fish in the bigger lakes are missing me :) I just try to remind myself that it will all be worth it when I get to pull my new ride home.

Immediate gratification can be a problem with any issue in life.

As stated above, take your time and put off any impulsive purchase.

Looking forward to see a pic of the boat you get.

Have you come up with a name for it?  I call my boat The Goose.

Thanks friends! Still searching and still thinking of the name for it. You guys are spot on with the waiting part. It's not easy, but patience will be a big part for me lol

Waiting will only make it that much better when you get your boat. Totally sucks in the meantime though!

I'm with WIGuide. I waited 1 year and 3 months before I got my boat fixed and water ready. Patience was key. Good tip is to think over your decision and check out every inch of the boat and even try to test drive it. Good luck!!

If you're going to name your boat, may I suggest your wife's name? It'll help her and the boat bond.

Or the name of the place where you had your first date. It'll be so romantic you almost won't seem like a deserting, obsessed addict when you're out the door at 4am ;)
