5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Well, my wife finally agreed to let me get a bass boat. Only catch, I had to sell my kayak with electronics in it, etc. So I did. Only issue now is that I am back to bank fishing and using my friend's pelican 2 man bass raider a couple times a week with him. Not too bad, but right now I feel like I lost some independence. I have a few more months before the money is ready, but a guy wanted the kayak at a great offer and I had to take the $$$ to put in savings. :-( 1 Quote
Smokinal Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Take your time and find the right deal for you. Check it over well before you buy. Impulse buys usually turn out bad. Quote
Yeti Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Just think of it this way. In about 3 months, there are going to be a lot of bass boats for sale to fill up Santa's Sleigh. Good things come those who wait, or so I've been told. Hang in there! 1 Quote
5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 Thanks man. It's not like I'm in a rush. Just lost my aquatic transportation for a little bit. Lol 1 Quote
Yeti Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 You could always do it Alabama style with a pool noodle and a trolling motor... 3 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 3, 2014 Global Moderator Posted August 3, 2014 I feel your pain. I sold my boat a few months ago to pay some stuff off so I would be able to afford a new bass boat in the hopefully pretty near future. Thankfully my brother in law just bought an 08 Stratos so he no longer had a use for his 15' johnboat so I'm using that for now on the smaller lakes, but I know the fish in the bigger lakes are missing me I just try to remind myself that it will all be worth it when I get to pull my new ride home. 1 Quote
jbw252 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Hang tough! At least there's a sweet bass boat in your future... Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 3, 2014 Super User Posted August 3, 2014 Immediate gratification can be a problem with any issue in life. As stated above, take your time and put off any impulsive purchase. Looking forward to see a pic of the boat you get. Have you come up with a name for it? I call my boat The Goose. Quote

5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 Thanks friends! Still searching and still thinking of the name for it. You guys are spot on with the waiting part. It's not easy, but patience will be a big part for me lol 1 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 At least you get to tag along on the bass raider Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 Waiting will only make it that much better when you get your boat. Totally sucks in the meantime though! Quote
blongfishing Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I'm with WIGuide. I waited 1 year and 3 months before I got my boat fixed and water ready. Patience was key. Good tip is to think over your decision and check out every inch of the boat and even try to test drive it. Good luck!! Quote
FrogFreak Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 If you're going to name your boat, may I suggest your wife's name? It'll help her and the boat bond. Quote

Super User Master Bait'r Posted August 19, 2014 Super User Posted August 19, 2014 If you're going to name your boat, may I suggest your wife's name? It'll help her and the boat bond. Or the name of the place where you had your first date. It'll be so romantic you almost won't seem like a deserting, obsessed addict when you're out the door at 4am Quote
