Yeti Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I personally don't have Costa sunglasses, but for my snowboarding goggles, I used Jaws Spit last season and it worked like a charm. I've always had problems with goggles fogging up (even with $200+ goggles) before using it and I had zero problems after one use. That's what I would look into if I were you. They also sell anti-fog wipes online, but I don't think I am allowed to post external links. Good luck! Quote

Anyone else have/had this problem and know how to fix it? Glass lenses? Mine fog on certain days when it is hot and humid going from a cool environ to the outside. Used to have something I think called "no fog" that I'd rub on my glasses (back when I wore glasses). Can't remember if it worked well or not, to be honest. Once the glasses adjust to the conditions, do they stop fogging? I should say that there's a second issue, that is when it is hot and I'm sweaty and wearing a hat. I end up having to take them off for a spell because there's just no breeze to cool me down. 1 Quote

I was just researching the topic on the web - because it was a good thread to start, crank! - and the word from "those in the know" is NOT to use coatings, in particular, anti-fog coatings because they will have a bad effect on the multiple layers of coatings that Costa puts on their lenses. Not sure if the JAWS product will be a problem, being eco-friendly and all that. But now I'm scared to take a chance! Obviously need to do more research. Quote

I would not want to take the chance with a pair of Costas either if they can be damaged, but I'm not sure what else Costa could tell you to do with fogging up glasses. The trick I did prior to finding Spit for my Ray-Bans was to just leave them out for a little while prior to using them so the temperature equalizes. Quote

But it is those times when there is little to no wind and the glasses fog up. It does help moving them away from my eyes a little bit, but not entirely. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted August 3, 2014 Super User Posted August 3, 2014 My Costa's are 580P's and I also have a fogging issue. Mine is due to the high heat and humidity we experience down here in South Florida. This time of year anytime I begin to overheat a little my lenses will fog. I find this happens when I wear a hat and my glasses are snug to my face. If I raise the brim of my hat and increase the space between me and the glasses just a little, it helps to dissipate the heat, preventing the lens from fogging up. Quote
SGT Rico Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Just spit on them. I know that sounds nasty, but it helps. I have a pair of costas with the 580 G lense and thats how I keep them from fogging up. They still fog up lightly, but now where near as much. Quote
Surveyor Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Had the fogging problem while turkey hunting. With a net over your head its a real problem. I got some wipes from "Rite Aid" drug store and solved the problem. Check your local drug store, make sure they say they are "anti fog" or something to that effect. They are really good fro cleaning w/o scratching too. Quote
