Triscuit Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 My name is Chris and I have been watching bassresource's videos and using their tips. Very good videos and very helpful. I have been going to a local pond and haven't caught anything in 10+ trips. I decided to use my baitcaster I got a LONG time ago from someone that hated using it and wanted to throw it away. First trip before watching his videos was a nightmare and I almost did the same as the previous owner. After watching the casting and how to find bass videos I decided to try it again and try out the Texas rig. I landed 4 bass that were smaller, but I finally caught some. I missed 10+ bites from not knowing what I am doing. I didn't set the hook on 2-3 of those that I knew were a bite because of bird nesting and other inexperienced casting issues. I am so glad I found your videos. They have helped me out and they definitely WORK! I look forward to learning and eventually teaching my son how to effectively fish! Thanks for all the help. 1 Quote
Triscuit Posted June 26, 2014 Author Posted June 26, 2014 Thanks guys. I am excited to get more into Bass fishing. I wanted to last year but didn't because of what others in my family wanted to do. I gave up on them and will be doing what I want to do. Quote

Triscuit Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 Thanks guys! Enjoy the Forums! Have you put new line on that baitcaster? Welcome, I will see ya around.... Yeah, I put some 12lb Spiderwire mono on it. It's something I had left over from another reel last October. I want to go to some braided line, but that will have to wait for some $$. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted June 27, 2014 Super User Posted June 27, 2014 That's good Chris, good, fresh line is important. Good luck getting you're braided line, post you're questions and share you're experiences in the Forums, once again, Welcome! Quote

Triscuit Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Thanks! Sorry, I am pretty busy right now, but that will change on the 5th. I went out another few times and didn't get so lucky. Got some really good bites, but I am still trying to learn how and when to set the hook with this Texas rig. Quote
