Hey guys! I'm new to this forum and was looking for some help on fishing Lake Hopatcong. I've been fishing there for about 2 weeks now and have not had a whole lot of luck.. Only a few little rock bass here and there. We've been searching most of the lake fishing the drop offs and weed lines and been coming up empty. Usually all different lures such as rapalas, soft baits, lipless cranks, night crawlers, topwaters and so on. I feel like we might be doing something wrong out there? Really looking for large mouth and walleye. Any tips or help would greatly be appreciated! Thanks

You have to pick your times wisely as the lake can get quite insane with boat traffic. I have done well fishing a weightless, Texas-rigged, white senko around the grass there (I'm sure any soft plastic jerkbait would work well, that is just what I happened to have on). You can also flip docks with almost anything.

There is one area where you can get out of the boat traffic. If you go north of Brady bridge and to the right there are a bunch of canals that lead up to route 15. I had no luck back there when I was at the lake 6 weeks ago, though.

Thank you very much for the responses. Ill definately have to fish more soft baits around the docks and get out there on calmer days.

Thanks again. Much appreciated!

I always had luck with shakeu heads on docks. FAR under docks. Henderson, Lee's and the old Floraine's (new Skeeter dealership).
