Super User Redlinerobert Posted April 8, 2007 Super User Posted April 8, 2007 Hey guys, I'm looking for a shallow running Rattlin Rogue in "rayburn red" Does anyone here have any they'd like to sell me or put me in contact with a place that may have them?? Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 I was searching for a minute here, trying to help out and notice that there is no "rayburn red" listed on the bill lewis site anymore. Has this color been re-named? Quote
Super User Munkin Posted April 8, 2007 Super User Posted April 8, 2007 Do you have a pic? I own about 100 Rogues some of which are old but I have never seen any that would make Rayburn Red (like excalibur rayburn red)? Allen Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted April 8, 2007 Author Super User Posted April 8, 2007 I have no pictures guys, sorry. I would assume rayburn red is rayburn red in any lure though? What other lure would be similar in action that would be availabe in that color? Quote
Super User Munkin Posted April 8, 2007 Super User Posted April 8, 2007 http://www.smithwicklures.com/Smithwick_2006.pdf Scroll down and look a the Lazer Craw, I think it is the closest I have seen to Rayburn Red? Allen Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted April 8, 2007 Author Super User Posted April 8, 2007 I saw the Excalibur Rayburn red - I suppose they dont make the Rogue in that color anymore. :-/ Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted April 8, 2007 Author Super User Posted April 8, 2007 Well here is the Ito 110 in the correct color. Too bad it's sold out. Any leads on this guys? Quote
Super User Munkin Posted April 11, 2007 Super User Posted April 11, 2007 I have one or 2 that are called Sunrise something that are a metallic red on the sides with an orange or chartreuse belly? (I will have to check on the exact color) Allen Quote
Cephkiller Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Many of the custom lure makers you can find online will custom paint any bait you send them. You might try that option. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Send "whittler" some blanks, he can surely match the color. Quote
Thefishy1 Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 In the bass pro catalog, the only things that match that color are the x-rap in (hot head #65) and the original floater in (gold fluorescent red #04) Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 11, 2007 Super User Posted April 11, 2007 FYI: Rayburn Red is not a Rat-L-Trap color; it's a Cotton Cordell Hot Spot color #C25186 Quote
Cephkiller Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 FYI: Rayburn Red is not a Rat-L-Trap color; it's a Cotton Cordell Hot Spot color #C25186 This sounds snarky, but I intend it only as a genuine question in the nicest way; Who said it was a Trap color? Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 12, 2007 Super User Posted April 12, 2007 The entire topic in a nut shell Redlinerobert stated I'm looking for a shallow running Rattlin Rogue in "Rayburn Red" Does anyone here have any they'd like to sell me or put me in contact with a place that may have them?? LBH stated I was searching for a minute here, trying to help out and notice that there is no "Rayburn Red" listed on the Bill Lewis site anymore. Has this color been re-named? Munkin stated I own about 100 Rogues some of which are old but I have never seen any that would make Rayburn Red (like Excalibur Rayburn Red)? Redlinerobert stated I would assume Rayburn red is Rayburn red in any lure though? My answer is You will not find any other lure color Rayburn Red because it is an exclusive color of Cotton Cordell's Hot Spot. Thank you kindly for reading the entire topic Tommy T Quote
Cephkiller Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 My confusion and your mistake lie in the fact that XCalibur does have a Rayburn Red. So You will not find any other lure color Rayburn Red because it is an exclusive color of Cotton Cordell's Hot Spot. is incorrect. I didn't notice LBH's Lewis reference so I see where you are coming from. Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 13, 2007 Super User Posted April 13, 2007 You will find that XCalibur lures and Cotton Cordell are owned by the same company Lurenet Pradco, therefore it would be completely legal for XCalibur to have the color Rayburn Red. Vyron Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Yo zuri has a similar color 2 that : Matte Orange Tiger Quote

But since we're being picky here, you said-- My answer is You will not find any other lure color Rayburn Red because it is an exclusive color of Cotton Cordell's Hot Spot. --which very clearly implied that the color was unique only to the Hot Spot. Now, if you had said "You will not find any other lure color Rayburn Red because it is an exclusive color of Pradco, which is the parent company of both Cotton Cordell and Excalibur", that would have been different.
