blackmax135 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I just recently boat some triple tail 400g blue mirror costas. I paid $80 they are in pretty good shape but on the blue mirror partthe color is starting to fade at the top of the lenses. I was thinking about sending them to Costa to get new lenses. Should that be covered under the warranty? If not how much is it gonna cost and I don't wanna be ripped off saying they weren't takin care of because these things don't have a scratch on them. They are not fake. Any one had this problem? Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted June 15, 2014 Super User Posted June 15, 2014 There is nothing to it. Here I looked up the info for you. I have used them couple of times and your glasses return looking brand new. https://www.costadelmar.com/repair Quote
blackmax135 Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 But how much are they gonna charge me? Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted June 15, 2014 Super User Posted June 15, 2014 But how much are they gonna charge me? If you looked at the website, you would have seen it's $11.95. The times I have had to send my glasses in, all I did was send the $11.95, and the postal fee. Couple of weeks later I have good as new glasses with $0 additional costs for repair. I have been very happy with Costa's service so far. 2 Quote
Rhaider Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I work for a Costa retailer and they offer the lense replacement at wholesale cost to you, so it will depend on which lenses you have but usually $10-$20 covers it. Quote
blackmax135 Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 I looked at the page and yes it says 11.95 but thats if the warranty covers it. Im asking what it cost because i have been reading up alot on this and ive heard people having problems with the warranty. Costa saying that the problems with the glasses are the persons fault so that costa can charge them to fix it. I don't know either persons case so the people saying that it wasnt their fault could have been full of crap. My problem looks as if its inside the glass. they are 400g. I only wanted to know what to expect or have an idea. Thanks Quote
Hubtech Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I'm not sure where you got a New pair of Triple Tail's for $80 from (good job). BUT, my wife is a Costa dealer, and I've had to send off to get my 580 glass lenses replaced, and i belive it was 50-70, or she was just getting some extra spending money if what Rhaider says is true. But i'm pretty sure It depends on the lens. Quote
Brian Needham Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I had to have a broken lens replaced (dropped it) in a set of 580G pair.... $100+ shipping..... better than $250 I say. 1 Quote
blackmax135 Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 I gotcha. I think its a defect in the lense. So that should be covered under the lifetime warranty. Luck is how i got them. Its actually a old friend of mine. He won some costas and i told him id give him 50 for his old ones then we meet in the middle i gave him 80. Good investment i believe. Quote
