I have a question on the right color frog to use. I know that darker color baits you use on bright, sunny days and bright colors on darker days. If anyone has any suggestions on new ideas please let me know.

I am opposite I use white in bright light and black when it is cloudy or dark.

Yup, bright colors in bright light, dark colors in darker conditions

Sounds like I have it backwards. Which one do you throw on stained to murky water?

I would use a black frog in stained to murky water. A black and yellow frog would be just perfect.

sometimes they want a black belly and sometimes they want a white belly. Just throw both until you figure it out

There's really no "backwards". There's no standard in our sport. Throw both. On any given day they could want one over the other.

If theres one thing Iv learned about fishing, it's that sometimes going against the grain can really produce.

Cloudy-black

sunny-black

rainy-black

windy-black

dirty water-black

clear water-black

You get the idea :)

I don't get to frog fish very often though so I might not know what I'm talking about.

I use the snag proof "tweety" yellow head, black body - it's caught a lot of bass for me when there's not enough wind for a black furby.

I don't go crazy on what color of frogs to throw and at what time of day to throw it anymore. I have narrowed down my field of frogs with 2 colors. One has a black bottom and the other as a white. Out of those 2 colors which ever the fish are zeroing in on the most is the frog color I will stick with.

I prefer frogs that have a combination of light and dark colors vs all white or all black.  A white/gray or yellowish bottom with darker sides seems to cover pretty much all the conditions that I come across.  I think a bass finds the frog by the commotion on the surface more than the color.  Tom
