Sorry if this has been discussed before, but i didn't see it when i searched. usually when i'm fishing, time's of the essence. I prefer to spend as much time as possible with my line in the water. i was wondering if it would be a good idea to pre rig some plastics up before i go fishing. or would this dry them out too much? i've thought about doing it and keeping them in a spare plastics bag

I think most guys pre-rig everything they think they might use,

then make adjustments on the water.  Pastics don't dry out in

weeks, let alone overnight.

Thanks guys! just rigged up 6 different Yum Dingers: 2 each in 3 different colors. i've been fishing all my life, but have only begun to really use lures (other than 2 or 3 here and there). pre rigging gives me the chance to take my time and make sure they're on as straight as i can get em

I have a buddy that riggs his confidence baits. Super glues his paddle tail plastics too his swimjigs.

I rig all my rods unless I'm unsure of the conditions I will face when I get there, and I put my likely to use lures in a top drawer I can just pop open and get them out.

I not only pre-rig, I stay rigged 24/7/365 ;)

But I do fish 2-3 days a week!

Same...

I re tie, re rig, add scent to plastics, apply line conditioner to the reel and guides the night before every tournament.

I pre rig as part of my prep for a tournament.  I don't really pre rig when I fish for fun(aka practice).

I don't put plastics on the night before because they'll just get torn up on the way to the lake it seems like. Don't leave them rigged up for long periods of time either as they'll rust the hooks if there's salt in the bait. I do rig my rods up the night before with whatever hooks I'm going to be using my plastics on though.

Nope, cut everything off when I put the boat on the trailer and don't retie anything until I am at the lake. If Fishing every week week, then I would pre rig because the patterns don't change that fast. Without knowing what the current conditions are it's impossible to second guess what the bass are doing.

It is rare that I don't have some knowledge of lake conditions before before I get there, and some history of what has worked on that body of water under similar conditions in the past. So always  in those cases I am rigged and ready with every combo I have with me. I also have dedicated combos that always have a specific bait tied on regardless of where I'm going. I am a big believer in re-tieing often, so if I haven't done this the night before, I will before getting started.

I y'all don't mind i'll add on. You have 6 rods, 4 baitcasters and 2 spinning outfits. Your headed to a 20 acre pond in central Alabama with medium density grass, think Coosa river type fishery. What to you pre-rig?

Preparation!

How can y'all say , I aint prepared enough to even tie on a lure?

I don't pre rig but I don't fish tournaments either. I feel that it takes very little time to tie everything. As far as plastics go it takes less than a minute to Texas rig. I also re tie my knots often.
