Sheesh! Those are big uns. You have a boat???? And here all this time I thought you were a golf pond hopper

Yep... It's really convenient to hit the ponds in my neighborhood, so I can fish everyday:-) I love boat fishing also, but I don't do it as much. My buddy drags me out once in a while.

Bite has finally kicked up, here's a few from my latest adventures, also I went crappie fishing tonight and after catching like 30 of them in the 6inch range and a few nicer slabs I managed to get one Largemouth on the crappie magnet and caught another on a topwater spook!

Went to the reservoir yesterday and managed to get this chunky guy protecting his fry, he didn't like my morning dawn roboworm anywhere near his bed site.

Biggest went 5 to 5.25 at 20” and 15.5 or 16 in girth . Flipped and split the paper ruler into three pieces as I tried to take the picture. Biggest fish taken from 18” of water. The Megabass Jerkbait Special hit the water for the first time. Love the rod. Hooked up on everything I’d usually miss.

If you look closely at the tape measure pic, you can see these fish have eyes that can face completely forward. You can also see all the poison ivy in the last pic.

Inside New York City limits. 90 degrees out.

Is it just me or do these fish have smaller mouths than LMB everywhere else?

First smallmouth of the year and I finally caught a fish in a spot that I have been fishing before with no luck ? I didn’t bring a tape with me so I used my rod as a ruler to measure it when I got home. I am assuming 13-15in and no clue on the weight

Spent some quality time with the son-in-law today. Had another 10 or so that weren’t picture worthy but fun to catch nonetheless.

Hit the second shift with my son, we went over the river and through the woods, but hit a few snags and got hung up. I managed a few more dinkasaurs. Yes, I changed, I could not risk contaminating everything with the poison ivy from the spot I fished earlier today. I’m usually almost immune, but after my second Covid shot, I actually got it on my hands arms and around the tops of my socks.

@Nelson Wormefeller I’m logging my catches in Fishbrain as the historical collect pond in downtown Manhattan, that’s just a fancy way of saying the sewer....

Got out this morning at dawn before some storms that were scheduled to roll in. I chose a 50-ish acre lake I haven't been to since last June to try for my first topwater bite of the year.  This 16" post-spawner slurped a perch-colored Yo-Zuri 3DB prop, which also produced 5 more before I had to go:

Propbaits never seem to get much love, but I use them a lot, especially post-spawn.

We too hit the water this morning for a couple hours before the rain moves in. The water was a balmy 75 already, I sure as heck wasn’t expecting that. I caught a few on a RES. 6poundbass was hammering them on a Rage swimmer. He caught more than me so he was happy.

Yeah, 74 where I was.  The smaller lakes really heated up early this year.

Finally broke my bass less streak that had been going 4 over a month. Went to a muskrat lake north of Lansing. Took the family blue bill fishing but, caught bass instead on a 6 inch black and blue flak  ocho worm with 1/4 oz wieght.  Throwing to and into the pads .  Not bad for a couple of hours on the lake

I never thought it would be that warm already. Oh well.

Even the big rivers up here in Michigan are mid 70’s.  Muskrat was mid 70’s and the summer pads that ring the lake are in full affect.

the Saginaw bay has made it to the upper 50’s.  Lake Michigan is still upper 40’s to low 50’s

Caught about 7 today! Only took a pic of the 1st 2 fish. I caught 3 on a Shadow Rap at the end, and the rest were on a Ned Rig. I saw someone from the bucket brigade take 5 fish, one of which was pretty decent, even though regulations says that Bass catch and keep season starts on the 29th. He left as soon as I went by him to go to another fishing spot.(not by the place where he was) And also I’m pretty sure that the lake I was fishing in is catch and release only, but I’m not positive.

I know it's not a bass but this almost 14" crappie was a PR.  It was flopping around so it was hard to get an accurate measure.  I think if I has a board it would have been an honest14" but I was happy anyway.
