ThurmanMerman Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Im fishing the rage craw with an 1/8 oz weight not pegged, and swimming it slowly back to me. Tonight, the body was rolling and not staying straight. I switched to a twin turbo grub and the body would also roll in a clockwise motion. Can anyone suggest something I might be doing wrong. Thank you in advance! Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted June 6, 2014 Super User Posted June 6, 2014 Make sure the hook is centered when you put it thru the bait. Quote
papajoe222 Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Sounds to me like your rigging the bait off center or with some twist. Try lying the hook alongside the bait to determine where it's point will enter and exit the plastic both at the R bend and in the body. Be sure to center the hook's point to the center of the bait . If it goes in or comes out off center, your bait will twist when moved through the water, even if it's hanging straight. Quote

I don't know if its because I am dyslexic(spell checked) or I just can't do it right the first time. I spend way too much time making sure my hooks are lined up and my worm is straight. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted June 6, 2014 Super User Posted June 6, 2014 There is no such thing as spending to much time making sure your worms straight! Haha 2 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 6, 2014 Super User Posted June 6, 2014 If you are mostly swimming the bait - instead of Texas rigging try the Rage Rig. When matched with the correct weight size and rigged correctly, this will fix your spinning problem A-Jay http://www.ragetail.com/news/06/the-rage-rig/ http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/rage-rig.html Quote

Quite true, but it probably bothers you more than the fish, except for the added line twist. IMO an unnatural swimming motion replicates an injured fish, you may be getting more strikes........lol. Live bait fishermen will clip a fin that makes the bait swim unnatural. 1 Quote
