New Bladed Jig Color

Been getting a lot of request from local guys for this bait. Took a lot of looking around to find a way to do the blade that I liked but this one turned out great I think. The new Code Black

That bait was cast against the the rocks and concrete slabs for 10-15 minutes just to test how well the finish would last, you can tell it held up great. I even managed to catch 6 bass and this guy in the process

It's just a standard shaker blade that I powder painted with an airbrush.

I am still putting your jigs to work and man are they durable. I landed a 23lb snook on one and it still caught fish the rest of the day without having to be tuned much....The paint is getting beat up but that means a lure is good, never understood why people compain if a fish takes chips off, or you need to run them into tree stumps to maybe get a strike from the fish of the lifetime? I can't look at regular zman lures anymore they are toys, Those Hooks are sharp and colors are killer. My friends stopped using bladed jigs even though I keep telling them it takes a long time to learn and I am still a novice, just winding to the boat is not a good strategy all the time.....

 

Hey can you make weedless 1/8-1/4 versions with a bullet style head, or ballhead? Looking for a spinning gear lure and love how the swinging bullet head jigs look like although I have not seen them on anything except in a pack by Freedom I think it was?

It's a killer in stained water, around weeds, or in water with a tannic tint to it also. It does surprisingly well in clear water as well.

I make a ton of them every year for the guys around here. Smallies love the Ned and I love smallies

This color has been a killer all year for me and others that use them. PM sent.

Nice ned jigs. What size sickle hook are you using ? The more I read about that head the more i want to try it.

I have a few people out here that swear by the worm/mushroom head for our mt. lakes. Both smallies and spots. 2/0 & 3/0 sickle or round bend seem to be the best hooks. The sickle hook in those sizes also works well in a tube jig head. Do-it"s tapered tube "

"TC" 90 degree mold needs no mods. for either size.

I've found that if you don't say anything about who makes the hook there's no complaints. With some the only hooks are the higher priced China made stuff. I like to keep my $$$ in my own country.

E.C. has moved forward more than any hook maker in recent years and is still moving forward. I do a lot of buss. with Shorty;s (Capt. hook for smaller amounts) and was told they have made a deal with E.C. for these hooks in the "needle pt." style. I'd like to see them make it in a 60 degree style for the "TX" molds in a in-line or flat eye type line tie. With the 60 degree the eye and knot slip back into the tube so only the line it self is showing. This type works well in our mt. res. and shale rocks along with the cobble stone plus the hook "hugs" the tube body well enough to flip it into heavy grass or wood without getting hung up.

Shorty's just sent me some samples in both red and B.N. 2/0 & 3/0 a few 1,000ths thicker wire, sharper pt. and I'm sure the quality control is much better. Price, about the same. Colors are green, gold, along with the red & B.N.

Bluebasser86, that all black bladed jig is awesome and I too use that head, very good for that purpose. I just wanted to give you another blade option, I actually found those blade in black nickel, and it will work really well with the flat black head, and the blade you have looks great but I know how much of a pain it is to spray blades with powder and I figured it would save you some time.

I looked at the black nickel blades but they were very expensive and I like being able to paint other colors as well. The air brush gives me more color options and it keepa prices down.

I am seeing on the yours picture that the freshwater striped bass likes that lure.

Question is: Is somebody has tried the chatterbait in the salt water for striped bass?

Those are awesome looking chatterbaits I think that is my favorite lure to use.I found this price of crap one at Walmart for a dollar and caught a 5 lber on it as well as a bunch of others. I can't imagine what I'd be able to catch with those works of art.

I use a Trokar, Eagle Claw, and a Mustad, but I mainly use the Eagle Claw.
