Super User South FLA Posted May 18, 2014 Super User Posted May 18, 2014 I can't wait for 3:30 PM today! As badly as the Pacers played during the beginning of their playoff run, I think they have righted the ship and are on a mission, which should make for entertaining basketball. The Heat has been playing well enough to inspire moderate confidence as a fan, but this series will be the only real test so far in their playoff run. So barring any injuries to key players on the Heat or the Pacers, my prediction is Heat in 6. The Spurs are somewhat healthy for an aging team and playing lights out basketball! OKC isn't playing at the level required to even match up with the Spurs with Ibaka in the line-up, without the center/power-forward to help, the Spurs should make quick work of the Thunder. Spurs in a gentleman's sweep. By the way I hate the term "gentleman's sweep," its either a sweep or not, but that's the term being used by the media for now. So come on basketball fans, make your predictions and what's your take? 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted May 18, 2014 Super User Posted May 18, 2014 I think the Heat will win out again, but I would love to see the Pacers finally win one. Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted May 18, 2014 Super User Posted May 18, 2014 I don't see the Spurs sweeping OKC even with Ibaka out. Perkins and Adams should be fine against a less than agile Duncan. You move Durant to the 4 and Butler to the 3, if they can establish some 3 point shooting it will open lanes for Westbrook who I see as a matchup problem for the Spurs. Should be a good series, I go out on a limb and say the quicker Thunder take out the aging Spurs. Keep in mind that Parker has a leg injury that may keep him from playing his normal minutes. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 18, 2014 Super User Posted May 18, 2014 If the Heat put a hurting on the pacers in the first game of the series the pacers will fold...out west as much as i want to say the spurs will win, durant and westbrook when playing well are tough to beat. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted May 18, 2014 Author Super User Posted May 18, 2014 Gentleman's sweep = 4 games to 1 in this case Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted May 18, 2014 Super User Posted May 18, 2014 Pacers!!! Baby!!!!! They looked pretty sharp! Quote
Super User South FLA Posted May 20, 2014 Author Super User Posted May 20, 2014 Pacers!!! Baby!!!!! They looked pretty sharp! If they continue shooting ungodly high percentage and the Heat fall asleep its over for Miami! 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted May 20, 2014 Super User Posted May 20, 2014 West is a solid power forward for Indiana... It's his teammates that worry me... I can only hope they can continue to compete for the series! If the pacers go up 2 games to 0 .... I will feel much better! Nonetheless, a good series to watch!!! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted May 20, 2014 Super User Posted May 20, 2014 I'm rooting for a Spurs vs. Pacers final.... Tired of the Heat. And I don't mean the temperature. Quote

Super User Darren. Posted May 20, 2014 Super User Posted May 20, 2014 I bet Spur fans feel differently! Perhaps, I don't have a horse in the race. But it would be a great final, IMO! When it comes to NBA, I have favorites, and non-favorites. NFL, I bleed Buffalo Bills colors. NBA, I follow players more than teams these days. Was a Dr. J fan, hence 76ers fan back in the day. Then I loved Jordan, lived in Dallas and cheered for the Mavs, but my heart was with Chris Mullen and Golden State. Huge Kobe fan, so follow the Lakers closely. LeBron fan, but prefer team-wise, Pacers and Spurs. Quote
