Besides that I need to know your price range for this rod and also what type of crankbaits. For deep divers and lipless baits I use a dobyns 765cb glass rod. For medium divers I use a POS quantum kvd rod that I dont recommend. For shallow divers I use a fenwick hmg 6'6" medium. If I had the money I would use all dobyns crankbait rods. This may be out of your price range but the fenwick hmg is pretty cheap, granted I use the older model. 1 Quote

OP: As stated, you need to give us more information on what you are looking for and price. Even when you say your budget limit is $150 some will be recommending $350-$450 rods. Super User aavery2 Posted May 13, 2014 Super User Posted May 13, 2014 Lots of variables when looking for a crankbait rod. Do you prefer Glass, composite or graphite? Are you fishing from the shore or a boat, as length of rod may be a factor. One thing to keep in mind is that crankbaits rods do not require a lot of sensitivity as they are a reaction type bait, it is good to be able to feel what the bait is doing but you do not need the same sensitivity you would need in a bottom contact type bait. I would suggest looking at a St.Croix Premier, a Falcon Bucoo or one of the Ducket rods, all well within your price range. If you want something a little nicer, try to find a Dobyns 704C or 705C crankbait rod used for around 150-160. Quote
