NorthernAnglers Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Since the season has started i have been doing some experiementing with huge frustrations with spiderwire invisbraid breaking mid cast without back lash and on hooksets just b.s stuff. today i tryed 17 pound vicous pro elite flouro i belive and it just ticked me off every flip with loose coils and bird nests that did not make sence when i got them... just want to know what you guys prefer , i do alot of rock , timber and light weeds in both clear and stained water ... so my question is... you find best with braid and flouro leader (what pound tests?) or all flouro ( company and pound test)? CJV Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I flip with 50-60lb Sunline FX2 hands down the best option IMO. I really don't mess with leaders and when it comes to flipping with fluro I just can't stand it .... No one likes baby sitting there fluro 1 Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I do 99% of my flipping with straight braid. 50 or 65# PP, S8S (Timber Brown), or P-Line Spectrex IV. If I find it necessary to use fluoro I prefer to go straight fluoro as well because it's just easier to me to deal with it's handling "flaws" than it is to retie a leader several times a day. I retie often even with braid so I go through quite a bit of fluoro each trip. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted May 12, 2014 Super User Posted May 12, 2014 I use straight braid around vegetation and straight fluoro around everything else. I like Sunline Sniper in 16 lb for an all around pitching line. I use 50 lb Sufix 832 when I use braid. Quote

I use 60# Kansen braid for plastics in heavy cover. 20# Invisex floro for jigs only. 15# Invisex in scattered vegetation Mike Mike Quote
