Crankbait/jerkbait Recommended Line?

I am thinking either 10 or 12 lb flouro? I will be throwing it on a 6'6" medium rod with a lews tourney pro!

Go with the 10 if you are fishing clear area with relatively little structures with a bit of depth (maybe 6 ft - 8 ft). Go with the 12 otherwise imo.

Ten pound fluoro for deep cranks, you can use heavier fluoro or mono for shallower cranks. I use 15 pound power pro braid for smaller jerkbaits up to the size of an X - rap 10 or a Pointer 100. The bigger jerkbaits fish well on 10 pound fluorocarbon.

I use 10 or 12 lb line for either technique depending on water clarity and how deep I want the bait to go. 12# is more common for me with jerkbaits and shallow or medium cranks, 10# for deep cranks. As always, it depends!

Wouldn't use fluoro for jerkbaits, personally. It can make them suspend nose down and they get kind of wonky when you jerk them. I definitely prefer mono. I'd suggest 13lb Defier or Defier Armilo, if you want the best. Otherwise, 12lb Super Natural or Senshi work well.

Either 10 or 12 will work great for your application. If you fish around heavier cover, I'd throw 12 instead though.

I've been using Sunline reaction FC this year and have been very pleased with it.  I like it better than the Seaguar Invizx I had been using.

I fish where there is a lot of vegetation.  I like to use 15# for crankbaits so I can rip them free of the weeds.

i use 10lb berkley 100% flouro and my brother uses 12lb sunline flouro , he bout catch equal amount of lake st clair , no real difference yet both can take a beating!

I like 12# flouro for jerkbaits...or 20 braid if i want my jerkbait to stay higher in the water column

For cranks i like flouro 12 or 14...sometimes 10 when i wanna go really deep. I like stretch for treble hook baits vice braids near zero stretch

I guess im the oddball. I use suffix siege in 12-14lb depending on how deep I want the bait to run.

 

I like the stretch of mono for trebel hook baits.
