ColdSVT Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 ^^ ive always liked those lakes but d**n i hate that launch Its about 75 miles for me so i feel ya...i usually get up there two or three times a summer. So far ive hit waneta and lamoka twice, little lake twice, honeoye and conesus once each I havnt decided if i wanna hit rhe cv tourny of waneta/lamoka next weekend or not. Im thinkin i may just go fishing for me and thats it at one of my local lakes Quote
stratos122 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 iv never tried waneta or lamoka always wanted to its close to 120 miles from me each way so i just stay closer and have been fishing keuka and doing great its still 100 each way but its well worth the drive. Ill be going this weekend and report after. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted August 5, 2014 Super User Posted August 5, 2014 Yeah, it's hard to justify the travel when I have Silver lake 10mins away, and Conesus 30mins away. But with Silver sucking big time this year I had to go try something else, and I go to Conesus enough as it is, I was up for a challenge. It's not much further than Honeoye for me. Another place I loved the only time I have ever been there was Sodus bay, but............it's also 70 miles or so. 1 Quote

ColdSVT Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Im trying to talk myself into a salmon trip right now...been years since i played with them Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 6, 2014 Super User Posted August 6, 2014 I got out for the first time in about 2 months te other day fishing a old friends pond. Last time I fished it every fish was 3+ lbs and it was every cast a fish almost 7 years ago. This trip was no fish till the heavy rain started and thunder was rolling in I was slaying 10-12" every cast practically lol. No big ones. Patched the kayak so hope to get it out this week or next. bclark7b Posted August 7, 2014 Author Posted August 7, 2014 Just got back from a trip to lake norman. Caught a ton of spotted bass. Went out today and caught big numbers. Only 1 over 3#. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted August 13, 2014 Super User Posted August 13, 2014 Got a choice of either silver, conesous or honeyoye this weekend. Which ones doing best now Depends on what you want. You want a shot at a hog............go to Conesus, you want numbers go to Honeyoe, you want to get out-fished by me, than go to Silver LOL. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 14, 2014 Super User Posted August 14, 2014 Lol I've been in a funk all year granted I've been out a whopping 3 times all year it's still been a funk. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 14, 2014 Super User Posted August 14, 2014 My buddy is in search of pike and I want bass so idk where we will end up. Going Sunday since I work 0600-1000 Saturday and we like to be on the water early. Quote
EvanT123 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I'm really liking this cooler weather we are having. The fish on the river always seem to be up for a snack around 3 O'clock. Caught a few good ones this weekend. 1 Quote

Managed only 2 15" largemouth in a couple hours yesterday morning. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 18, 2014 Super User Posted August 18, 2014 Honeoye gave up 9 to me and 6 to my buddy nothing big though all where 12-16". Mine were all from skipping docks his all came by crank Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Conesus was on fire yesterday. Very slow start to the day, with only three fish between 7am and 11am, but from 11-3 it was lights out. My buddy and I caught multiple 4lbers, several over three, and more 2lbers than we cared to count. We entered the evening tournament and held our own. I made a run at lunker with a 5.51, but was beat out by a 7.25!!! If I am going to get beat, that's the way to have it go down, not like the last time where I lost it by 2/100ths of a pound. Lol. 1 Quote
patbfishing123 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 There were definitely some good fish caught at Conesus last night, I beleive the record was beaten twice! That 7.25 was a beast! Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 I was supposed to fish conesus Sunday but opted for canadice when my buddy with a boat bailed. Didn't want to be on conesus with all the drunks and that wind Sunday in my kayak. Canadice was ok wind picked up and was blowing me all over. Managed to get a few small pickerel no bass though. Good to know that they're still running the Tuesday evening tournament and that Conesus is still producing quality fish. I'm on vacation next week (away) but may have to try to get up there for the evening tourney in a couple of weeks. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Clayton, want to hit the slum by me for northerns this weekend? They're in there. Had three on in a short two hour trip, landed one over 32". Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 I got a wedding to go to Saturday plus have my kids this weekend. I may be able to Monday or during the week or the following weekend. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted August 29, 2014 Super User Posted August 29, 2014 Even in post front conditions yesterday, conesus was pretty good. Numbers wise it was about the same as Tuesday, size went down a little my biggest two were only a couple mid to upper three lb class fish. My partner in the back of the boat, caught fewer fish, but it was his turn to catch the lunkers for the day. He got a 5-7, and a 4-9. Finesse was the rule of the day. Almost all our fish were caught dropshotting. Zero bites shallow, which, usually almost every time I go produces at least one of our better ones, and zero bites flipping big jigs and creature baits in thick weeds, which also almost every time coughs up a couple lunkers too. Quote
ColdSVT Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 How deep farmer? Were they right out on the weed edge or did they go down deeper? I struggled deep and in the weeds last time i was there but we did find em shallow...found some toothy critters in the weeds but no bass that wanted to eat lol Stupid fronts anyway lol Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 30, 2014 Super User Posted August 30, 2014 Clayton and I took the kayaks to the swamp and beat up on the northerns. Nothing huge, but decent numbers, and good burgers after. Quote
