Alpha Male Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So I just bought a pair of PQ's from the online sale (good thing too the sale price just went from 70$ to 80$) but they only had the 6.4 and 7.1 in left hand retrieve. I will be using the 6.4 for cranking do I just need to be conscious of the retrieve speed? Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 1, 2014 Global Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 If you want to fish slow you might have to be but for something like a squarebill you'll be fine. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 1, 2014 Super User Posted April 1, 2014 I would have bought the 5.2:1 for any cranking application but that reel you got should be fine for shallow cranks, just reel nice and easy. The PQ might be the best under $100 reel out there bar perhaps the Lews. Quote

Super User K_Mac Posted April 1, 2014 Super User Posted April 1, 2014 You will be fine. The 6.4:1 is what I use for all my cranking. If it turns out to be too fast for you, you now have an excuse for another... Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted April 1, 2014 Super User Posted April 1, 2014 You should be fine, maybe slow down just a little with deeper cranks but no reason to think you can't fish with a 6.4 Quote
