So I just bought a pair of PQ's from the online sale (good thing too the sale price just went from 70$ to 80$) but they only had the 6.4 and 7.1 in left hand retrieve. I will be using the 6.4 for cranking do I just need to be conscious of the retrieve speed?

If you want to fish slow you might have to be but for something like a squarebill you'll be fine.

I would have bought the 5.2:1 for any cranking application but that reel you got should be fine for shallow cranks, just reel nice and easy. The PQ might be the best under $100 reel out there bar perhaps the Lews.

You will be fine. The 6.4:1 is what I use for all my cranking. If it turns out to be too fast for you, you now have an excuse for another... :eyebrows:

You should be fine, maybe slow down just a little with deeper cranks but no reason to think you can't fish with a 6.4
