Fear the fish. If the talent on the marlins can keep it glued they will be hard to beat in the NL east.

AL east is up for grabs I think Bosox and Rays, because my Os only have one real starter and the bats fade after July. But the rays been shakey, and losing Moore is tough.

The Marlins do have a lot of insane talent. In a couple of years they might be an  NL powerhouse. It could be a real close race in the East in both leagues.

Man they called everyone up last yr before I got to a game here in Jax. But there is supposed to a couple of sick pitchers that should jump to triple a mid season. Trying to get out there before the jend of may.

Scary. Man when these Marlins grow up, the whole NL better look out. It is really incredible the way Miami develops talent. Well actually like that article stated, they don't develop the talent, they just toss them into the show. I'm watching Fernandez pitch against the Braves right now. Atlanta is my team but it is fun watching Fernandez pitch. Insane.

Fernandez stuff is filthy and if you hear the story of him coming over here you will like him more. What he is doing to your braves over 6 is a thing of pure beauty, you can't hate on that.

12 Ks and 1 hit over 7. He is still throwing 98 in the 7th inning. Wood is just about matching him though. not quite but he is at 1 ER, 4 hits and 10 Ks over 7.

Wood isn't throwing a shabby game. That is a W against 99% of the rest of the pitchers out there. Man wish I could catch it. They show very little in this market, went online and looked nada.

Yeah being a Braves fan in NY I don't see any games other than the occasional ESPN game or if they're playing NY. This year I got MLB TV. Now I can watch 4 games at the same time lol. I still get blacked out when they play the Mets or Yanks, but I can catch them on tv. I'm surprised you're not able to watch the fish or Atlanta. Can you see Tampa?

I was trying to stream online tonight. They don't offer much. Usually it is the marlins I am assuming because we have a marlins affiliate minor league team. But I am going to look into it more.

Pujols hit 499 and 500. Even got a nice ovation from the Nats fans.

Classy ovation from Nats fans for Pujols. However, Strasburg, Desmond, and Teddy Roosevelt injured themselves clapping. Sigh.

Wow!!!!

I got one of those once in highschool right off my small of my back cuz my lazy a$$ didn't get low enough behind the L. Can't imagine taking it to the face like chapman did or catching it like chavez did.

Makes the hot corner look like a cake walk LOL

Wow scary stuff. Seems like this has been happening a lot lately. Not the hot corner anymore, it's the hot rubber.

For a while there was a time in college that went through a ton of folks getting hit in the face and they blamed it on the speed of the ball from the aluminum bats

What a season so far: Instant replay is a disaster IMO, nobody wants the AL East, the NL East is no better save for the Braves and did anyone see Milwaukee with a 632 winning percentage after 38 games? I know it's early, but Milwaukee is putting together a fine season. I know I slept on them. And, you gotta love the Dodgers spending all that money only to be 2 games over 500...LOL

MCS, your O's could steal the East this year with one legit starter and 1/2 of a closer...LMAO...THEY'RE LOOKING GOOD!

Braves aren't even that good really but may win the NL east by default...it is killing me watching the phillies and their atrocious bullpen with it's nearly 5 ERA and i think 7 or 8 losses...they get half of those as wins and they are right in the thick of things.

Your Phils are only 3.5 games out, 2 games under 500 with a lot of games left to play. They are an older team with a lot of experience. I think that experience will win out in the long run.

They are a notoriously slow starting team and the older guys are doing ok and i really like Asche at third but time will tell.....if they can get a decent bullpen performance here and there they will be in the hunt or i could also see a fire sale around the break too....

We're seeing the growing pains of playing the kids up the middle. The pitching has been good but our hitting hasn't been there especially with runner in scoring position. Thankfully the East is up fro grabs.

My Braves can't score runs if it isn't from a home run! It's ridiculous. Most if it is because the joke of a lineup Fredi Gonzalez puts out every game. The NL might be a hot contest again. I was worried about Miami but now with Fernandez done for the year they don't have a shot.

Fly is going to hate me. But watching these kids the last two yrs at double a and in the bigs has made me root for the fish(part of it is they are the only team on TV) and I have been distraught the last two days to hear young Jose Fernandez has to have the tommy John. I don't want to wait 12-15 months to watch him strike out 14 braves...if he can do that ever again. And he was on my contending fantasy team :( sad so sad....I need another beer.

Man jig the O's pitching is starting to turn the corner but every two weeks another bat goes down! I hope they can hang on to a wild card. The stankees have far exceeded anyone's expectations but tanaka alone cannot take them by himself through the playoffs. Remember redsox slow and steady wins the race.
