Megastink Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I live north of Philly and I'm ready for a move. Does anyone live in the DC/Northern Va area? Do you still have open water, or did the water all freeze? If its frozen, when did it freeze? Just scouting. Thanks! Quote
The Pennsylvania Kid Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Some frozen some open.......The reservoir by my house is open water on the northern side but the southern side is still iced along with the inlets.......Its honestly hit or miss right now the Potomac is open but its high and muddy from all the recent snow melt off. My parents live up in Scranton and my dad said most the lakes up that way still have 18" of ice which is pretty crazy since its almost March......If your looking to road trip in March the water will most likely be all open down here in NOVA. Super User flyfisher Posted February 26, 2014 Super User Posted February 26, 2014 Personally i wouldn't move to the NoVa area if you doubled my salary......way to much congestion, traffic and super expensive housing but that is just me. As far as frozen water goes, down here in the central VA area i have seen some ice but nothing is left anymore. The last two years I was able to fish all winter and never once had to worry about ice.
