I was thinking of buying this but not sure it was worth $49 bucks? I have the old kind of balls with the cable and a marker, too much of a pain. Should I pull the trigger on this one?

I have them, after switching from the same system you have.  Love 'em!  Easy to use.

They're awesome. No weighing fish twice, no balance beam necessary. Makes culling super fast!

I use them and they are nice but i still cary a balance beam. I don't trust my digital scale enough and it's hard to get an innacurate reading with a balance beam. To me the balance beam is a necessity when ounces add up to dollars.

The ardent cull balls are great. Go get them, you won't be disappointed.

I have had mine for about 4 years....the cables are starting to get weak and break at the crimps, but the balls are fine. As the cables break, I am repairing them with super heavy duty plastic zip ties, and they are working fine. Simple way to make obvious culls. Catch a fish, weight the fish, attach ball with weight dialed in, place in livewell...cull as needed. I use a beam for making close culls, but 99.9% of the time according to the beam....the weight taken with my scale and put on the balls is correct............I just check to make sure, I would hate to lose a tournament or be out of the money because I tossed an extra ounce or two that I needed away.
