G Loomis Rod Users

Just wanting to get some feed back from members who have used the imx and mossy back rods from g loomis. Are they both any good? How do they rate vs other rods in the price range? Warranty? Just looking at getting one of each and before I do jugt wanted some input. Thanks.

i have the IMX. it is a very light rod and top notch. i only use g loomis rods. as i have other brands as well but nothing tops g loomis. any g loomis rod would be good quality, my rod never failed me. i also have the GL2 and love it as well. warranty is lifetime, they are kinda pricey but worth every penny. this is coming from a guy whose owned dobyns and st croix rods. g loomis blows them away by a mile. some people might disagree. just go try one and you'll see

I have a few Loomis rods and I like them a bunch. Not saying that I would not like another brand either but Loomis is all I have bought in quite a while. The IMX's are very nice rods. My IMX's are the MBR-844 and the CR`723. My GLX's are the MBR-842 and the MBR-783. My GL3 is a CR-723. The MBR-783GLX is more sensitive with bottom contact baits than the MBR-844IMX. If I had it to do over again, my 844 would have been the GLX version.

 

Folks on here will tell you that for the money that you will pay at a store for a Loomis IMX, there are better rods to be had for a cheaper price. I will tell you.................don't buy it at a store. Buy on eBay if you are comfortable doing that.

 

I just bought a BCFR894 Mosseyback from eBay so I can't tell you about that yet.

I have both the IMX, and the Mossyback. Both great rods. Also have a G Loomis spinnerbait rod, the GL2, and 3 GL3's. Of all those, the GL3's are my favorites. I replaced an IMX with a GL3.

well built and balanced. The pricing point is targeted by nearly every other company.

As a result, there are many brands to choose from that are excellent alternatives. I

fish mostly G. Loomis, but I also fish St. Croix and Pinnacle. The new Tournament

Series Pinnacle are certainly rods you should consider.

IMO the IMX is the rod that created the high end rod market and is what all rods are compared to.  The mossy back is a great rod also.  I've fished several of them and like all of them.  Right now I'm fishing mostly GLX's or Croix Extreme Elites.  I do still have some IMX rods

The IMX series rods are now 20 year old rod making technology, good rods, just not lightweight state of the art that the newer GLX and NRX series rods are. The problem today with Loomis state of the art rods are price ($450-$525) and questionable customer and warranty services, the rods are excellent.

Personally haven't experienced issues with the customer service. As far as rods go their GLX and NRX are two of the nicest rod lineups out there.

The imx I own is alright for what I paid for it, I just feel there's a lot to be desired for Bottom contact purposes as far as sensitivity goes.

I would not hold back from getting a rod because of customer service claims. I have many of these rods and it hasn't been an issue. As far as raw performance I believe Loomis has the top spot at the the moment.

I don't think there is a finer rod out there than the glx and nrx.   I wouldn't buy a Loomis anywhere but American legacy, They will replace a broken rod and not involve Loomis in warranty claims at all . much easier to deal with.
