pbizzle Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Have y'all had any luck using this color as a jig trailer? I've tried it on black and blue jigs but always seem to go back to black and blue flake. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 No, it does not work. As a matter of fact, send me all of yours and I will dispose of them for you! :eyebrows: Jeff 2 Quote

Super User 00 mod Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 I use 2 trailers in sapphire blue color. One is the rage craw and the other is the zoom chunk. I use them on back of the 00 Modbug jig. (00 mod gen 1 from Siebert outdoors) I fish a lot of oxbows and runoffs that tend to get dirty, but at the same time have caught them on it at Pickwick. Really is a versatile color. Give it a try! Jeff Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 it works great it very muddy water. i feel more so than black/blue. Quote
mnbassman23 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Great trailer color, I use it on my flippin blue and alimony colored north star jigs all the time. Caught some tonight on a flippin blue/blue sapphire chigger craw. Quote

Super User WRB Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 Gotta enjoy reading the terms given to old colors. Sapphire blue is what we call neon blue for about 35 years! Zank or John Viazonko is a local team tournament western bass pro who invented adding "neon" coloration to soft plastics. John "Zank" Viazonko dominated WON bass team tournaments for years and should be created for his neon soft plastics. Tom Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 For some reason it works on the Potomac river when jig fishing. Great with a black/blue jig to give it some color contrast. Keep fishing with it and keep notes on when and where it works or does not produce bites. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 Blue Sapphire is a great color for me in the river, especially when it's running high and muddy. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 7, 2013 Global Moderator Posted September 7, 2013 One of the best colors there is for night fishing. I to have the matching blue jig and trailer for night fishing. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I use it quite a bit on a black and blue jig. Quote

Super User Catt Posted September 8, 2013 Super User Posted September 8, 2013 Rage Lobster, Blue Sapphire, Texas Rigged, @ night! Nuff said Quote

keith71 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 I thought about this, but you can't take notes on catching fish when you can't catch fish. I think that it might be the best time to take notes. What were the water conditions, temp, time of year, etc.I have learned more from the days I tanked than the days you might slay them. It might not be the color of a jig trailer but where they might be holding, what forage their on lots of variables.Dont give up on that color just yet. 1 Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted September 9, 2013 Super User Posted September 9, 2013 That color works very well around here when it's cloudy out, or when the water is stained. Quote
