das028 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 This has been my number one producing lure since April until now, and something tells me its going to produce throughout the year. A close second would have to be a greenish/white magnum fluke (forget the official color). And third would be a char/white swim jig with a white swim bait trailer. This fall, I'm thinking the big fluke and the swim jig are gonna get some more action. But I'll be sure to have that black/blue jig tied on my jig/worm rod near by at all times. Anybody else have similar experiences? One bait that seems to work year round Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 4, 2013 Super User Posted September 4, 2013 Black-N-Blue is #1 year round across the nation! Quote

Basshammer Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I keep one tied on and in the boat at all times. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 5, 2013 Super User Posted September 5, 2013 Can't argue against black & blue, but a couple of friends turned me on to PBJ last year and that combination is killer, too! Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 5, 2013 Super User Posted September 5, 2013 Black n Blue jig/ Craw is a timeless classic. Quote
Quillback Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I like black/blue and throw it quite a bit, but GP/Orange is a great color in this neck of the woods. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted September 5, 2013 Super User Posted September 5, 2013 yeah black and blue is killer here too Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 black and blue of the jig world is like green pumpkin of the soft plastic world. It is a staple color that almost works anywhere any time. Quote
mnbassman23 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Black and blue is a go to color by many, because it works. I switch it up just a bit and throw the Alimony color, which is essentially a black and blue jig with a touch of chartreuse and some red flk in it. Sometimes it's good to be different Quote

If you dip the claws in a chartreuse dye, it matches well and has created some vicious bites Quote
BadBassWV Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 The one in my Avatar has been my go to all year this year. I have never had any luck with the black and blue combo. Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted September 6, 2013 Super User Posted September 6, 2013 In years past black/blue has been my #1 jig color. This year it's not. My best color this year has been straight black w/ a black trailer. Quote
dreamertino Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Caught my first bass on a lure with this combo bed fishing Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 The one in my Avatar has been my go to all year this year. I have never had any luck with the black and blue combo. Looks familiar. Quote
river-rat Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Black/Blue/Orange with a Flippin Blue Super Chunk is my #1 choice Quote
pbizzle Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Those cheap $1.50 1/4 Strike King Bleeding Bait Bitsy Jigs in black/blue with a few streaks of red in there have caught me some fish (including the two I'm holding in my avatars). That's what I caught my first jig fish on and the jig I have the most confidence in. Quote
pbizzle Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Sorry Siebert, I'm sure your jigs are awesome but I've never used them. Quote
paul25 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Black and blue jigs have caught me some good fish this year but pb&j is becoming a close second Quote
