Not sure if this is the right place to post this but...... Can anyone give a review of the Frog Toggs ToadRage Rain Jacket and the Toadskinz Pants? I'm looking at replacing the old set of Frog Toggs I've had for about ten years now and I like the look of these. Thanks.

I dont have the heavier version but i do have the super light version and i love them. Theyre not too hot so i can wear them in the summer and they keep me completely dry.

I keep the Toadz in my boat for just in case moments.  They work great, and store easily.  When I know it's gonna rain, I have some proper Marmot rain gear.

Toad skins stay in my boat as well. However for the money I would never buy them again. Cabelas or BPS carries a camo version of Herters rain gear, its quiet, soft, its NICE for the price. Plus then I can use it to hunt. I own both sets but wouldnt buy the Toad skins again cause they cant serve double duty, too loud.

I had the regulars and if you fish all day in the rain, you will be soaked.  They work well for sprinkles.  I am also interested in getting the Toadskinz bibs and jacket.  They are supposed to be better for rainstorms.

I have the same set. For the first couple of months they worked great. Now if it rains more than about an hour I am soaked. I would not purchase again if I had to do it again.

I should have listened to a friend who told me to spen the money up front on a good suit like BPS 100 mph suit or spend $100 for a couple of bad suits until I get frustrated and end up buying the good suit anyway.

I have cabelas rain ponchos that I bought in about 1998 and they still work great.  2 weeks ago I fished a tournament and it rained hard for 5 hrs. I stayed pretty dry. After the tournament I heard cuss words I had never heard before anywhere from a couple guys with regular frog toggs.

I don't know what model I have the cheap $20 set from Walmart. I can tell you I won't be without them. The one time I have used them wasn't a rain storm. It was a 6 mile tournament run north in 3 foot rollers. The wind was coming out of the NW so everytime the bow would crash a wave it would come right between the consoles of the boat. I felt like I was on the set of Waterworld. I stipped them off when I got to our spot COMPLETELY dry!

I bought Frog Toggs as my first "good" rain suit and they worked fine for 2 seasons.  However; that was about it before they started tearing here and there.  For the price they are fine if you are only going to wear them once or twice a year.  More than that and I would look for something better in gore-tex.

The Cabela's Guideware I am wearing in my avatar are now over 10 years old

and still look brand new! I have the uninsulated version, but with appropriate

layering they get the job done in the coldest weather I am willing to fish. I would

rate this "equiipment" as the VERY BEST thing I own...period!

I have had two sets. I use them fishing and will always have a pair for warm weather use. I use the same jacket and bibs at work. My first pair I got about 8 years of use out of. The original jacket now has a small hole in the left forearm. The pants are fine, they just look ratty. They have been used for fishing, working on racecars in the rain and my real job which includes wearing web gear and carrying a weapon every day. I have had no issues with rips or tears or leaks.

I just picked up a set for $29 at the bps fathers day sale last week.I bought them for keeping in my kayak for an emergency set.I haven't had a rain storm since i bought them but i will post my opinion on my next rainy outing, for $29 i don't expect outstanding results.lol

I ordered the ToadSkinz about 2 years ago from Cabelas but returned them.  First of all, they had so much static electricity built up into them it was crazy.  but mainly, b/c the bibs were ill porportioned.  They were very short waisted but had very longs legs.  It was just a bad fit, at least in the 2XL size.

Right now I just have some Marmot Precip gear, works well enough for Florida flash storms, but probably not for sustained all day rain.  Have been looking at the Bone Dry series, I think it's called?  Being in Fl the heavy GuideWear/100MPH/Simms suits are a bit overkill for temperature rating, so need something lighter.

I just got a chance to use my new Toadskinz Pants this past weekend at a tournament and I absolutely love them.   For the price they do exactly what I need.  Keep me dry.  They are also comfortable and breathable.  As a result I am probably going to get the matching jacket.  Before that I was using a simple poncho for the top.
