trupp30 Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I am wondering which brush hog type bait performs better; Strike kings game hog, or Zoom's brush hog? Also, I would like to know the optimal way to fish these lures. Thanks for the help. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Both are excellent. I prefer the Zoom bait because it is sturdier. I fish mine in a variety of ways - weightless, on a jobee hook, shaky head, t-rigged. They probably work great on a jika rig too. Quote
pabassr Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I mostly use zoom baby brush hogs, but Iike Berkley power hogs also. I fish mostly Carolina or texas rigged. This year I`m doing well on a drop shot rig. Quote

trupp30 Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 Thanks for the input. I see that most choose the Zoom baits. However, which do you find are more productive, the 6" brush hog or the 51/2" baby brush hog? Thanks for the help. Quote
Blues19 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I have probably caught more fish on a brush hog and Baby Brush Hog than any other bait. I started off with the baby brush hog and you can catch big or small fish on that bait. With a 2/o hook and a 3/16 oz weight T-Rigged you can catch a bunch of fish. I have done really well on the full size as well. With a 4 or 5/o hook and a 5/16 oz wieght T-Rigged you can beast the fish. My most productive colors are by far Green Pumpkin, Green Pumpkin Purple, Watermelon Red, and Watermelon Candy and watermelon Purple. I have also caught fish with these on the shakey head and Carolina Rig. The Zoom Bursh hog is by far my favorite creature bait. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 16, 2013 Global Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Baby brush hog on a T-rig with a 4/0 EWG hook and a 1/4oz weight catches me a ton of fish every year. Quote
scbassin Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Try the bigger one on a carolina rig. I use the Zoom. Quote
