Fisher_C Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Hey everyone. I was wondering how everyone lubricates there flourocarbon lines? I was also wondering if there were any other products you can use such as stuff around the house? Would reel butter work well as a lubricant? Thanks ahead of time. Quote
SwampLife Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Good Question.. I was wondering what was the difference between reel magic and kvd L&L?? Quote
MrSwimJig Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 KVD L&L is all I use. I do not like Reel Magic at all. Here is a link to a thread comparing the 2: KVD L&L vs Reel Magic Quote
gramps50 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I use KVD Line & Lure, I spray it on as I spool the reel and try to remember to spray it on before I leave the house to go fishing. I also use it on the guides of the rod. It's also great for cleaning the screen on your graph. I use it on my glasses and sun glasses too. From what I understand KVD L&L doesn't contain any petroleum products where reel majic does. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted May 11, 2013 Super User Posted May 11, 2013 KVD L&L for all my lines Jeff Quote
SwampLife Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Definitely throwing my reel magic away after reading that the info from that link! I haven't used it since the day I purchased it.. I put it on some mono.. Set the hook on what was maybe a 2lb fish and snapped...so I tried to break it in differnt places and 12# test broke soo easy on both the reels I had it on, and it was new line ... To say I been basically boycotting Walmart because I thought it must have been line that been siting on the shelf for years!! Being a fishing pack rat I still have the box, and just went try to break it by hand and could not!! The only thing it could be is reel magic!! I even changed brand of mono because of that incident lol Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted May 11, 2013 Super User Posted May 11, 2013 KVD Line conditioner, Done. Quote
Got1Fishing Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I don't understand Wat the point of line conditioner is? Isn't it better to just buy a more expensive, better quality line, than to buy a less expensive one and have to treat it. Quote
