Megastink Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Simple question: what are some techniques for sealing the eye of a work hook? I am trying to figure out a way to seal a siwash eye. I want to make my own flipping hook. VMC uses epoxy, Gammy welds. I am not a welder, but I can soder. So, how can I do it? Any how to videos? Quote
mnbassman23 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 In the past I have used a dab of gorilla glue to seal the small spaces found in many worm hooks and even flipping hooks for that matter, worked great. I would apply it with a toothpick and it would seal right up. With that said a siwash eye appears to be a bit larger than i've ever tried to seal so possibly my idea wouldn't work as well. I've actually never had a siwash eye hook in my hand to see how big the gap really is. Quote
The Next KVD Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I tie a palomar knot, snip it off the tag and the main line, move the knot down to the gap and retie on my palomar and go fishing. Knot will never slip through or get damaged. Quote
