Gonna take my buddy and his young son fishing in the glades this weekend. They have never bass fished so i figured shinners would be easiest way for him to catch fish. I have never shiner fished before and havent been in the glades in months. Was hoping i could get some help on best place to take him. Any advice would be great

Thanks

Right now the glades is hot. Especially for little kids. Catch rates right now are at 100+ fish. They are not huge fish right now however to a little kid 1-2lb fish are awesome. Heck for an adult its awesome. Easiest place is off alligator alle, multiple ramps and easily accessible. Baits, soft plastics of all sorts, top waters of all sorts. I will be out there also. Good luck and have fun. Shiners are not really needed. Up to you.

any boat ramp north of 75 on 27 (westside). Fish the main canal the runs along the finger canals. Throw a x-rap in black and gold and will catch as many dinks as you want. Flukes are good right now to. If the area is slow pick up and go north. If do use live bait, I would go with small ones.

My seven year old son caught +60 bass two Saturday's ago in Miami canal @ the MM34 ramp.  An O-ring/wacky setup with a 4" senko will get a bass almost every cast.  Those 60 fish might not have weighed 50lbs total, but it is great fun for the kids.

The O-ring is a must...makes the senkos last about 5x longer which is important.   You will go thru a lot of senkos without it...

Me/my dad caught some larger bass on poppers, but you will be hard pressed to catching anything over 2lbs.

That is the place. There are ramps on both the north and south side. Depending on water level you can go through the Weir on the west , to go west on the alley. I will be there tomorrow. What boat do you have ? I will keep an eye out for you.
