Was just in my local tackle shop for the first time, and noticed a sign that said "don't see it? Ask." So I asked about a 7"1 Villain micro guide rod since only a few places online have them, and at full retail. After some looking through his book, I hear "$149....does that sound ok?" Um yeah that sounds great lol. Needless to say, I think I found my new go to place for all of my rods. Can't wait to get my Villain next week.

Gotta love it, my local guy is the same he said he can get me veritas rods for 79.99 but only a select few. This was 2 years ago I should stop back in and see what he can get now I'm in the market for 5 more.

I moved, but still drive 45 minutes to my old local tackle shop, they gave me a great deal on all my shimano rods last month. Plus they do open houses with discounts. Its nice having a shop where the people that work there are tackle junkies like yourself...

My local tackle shop isn't like that at all. His mark up is crazy on most items.

I took the owner of my local shop bassing. The photo of him holding his PB on my boat covers a large shop window. Needless to say I get consulted when he orders lures and he has helped me out many times by special ordering stuff for me and charging me at cost.

My local shop owner is also a friend of mine. Not close friends but a friend. I walked in a couple weeks ago to buy some cheap jig heads and he asked if I had a few mins. Handed me the catelog and told me to mark anything and everything a tournament bass fisherman would want as he was going to change his entire inventory. I cant wait to see what he got.

ya, mine sells drugs too.

What i should have said is that our locally owned drug store is the only place in town that you can get a Revo MGX, a knee braced, your prescriptions, and your photos developed.

I know the guy who has ours. He knows me by name and let's me go in the back and pick out jig heads or make a few skirts if needed but other then that he's pricey. It makes it hard to support a small local business.
