J.Bass Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I have used SpiderWire Braid (I dont like), PowerPro, and Suffix 832. I like both PowerPro and Suffix they work good. I noticed the Suffix 832 sink faster rather the PowerPro tends to very slowly sink. I noticed PowerPro has the super 8 Slick line. Which do you think is better, Suffix 832 Superline or PowerPro super 8 slick? Quote
Super User Solution Darren. Posted February 17, 2013 Super User Solution Posted February 17, 2013 I think you'll find it 50/50. There are a lot of 832 folks on the forums, I'm a Power Pro guy, have used Sufix braids, but have chosen to pass over the Super Slick. I have talked with a buddy who loves S8S for both fresh and saltwater trout fishing. Put it this way, there are great things said about both lines, probably moreso than bad things to be said. How's that for a muddy answer? Quote

The Young Gun Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I like to use the 832 for musky fishin here in Wisconsin because of how it's more of a string than a cord. But power pro for bass because I like the way it's a cord. It's definitely a preference thing Quote

Which do you think is better, Suffix 832 Superline or PowerPro super 8 slick? Have you tried Daiwa Samurai? I feel this line is much nicer than both 832 and PP Super 8. It doesn't cost much more than 832 if you get it online. I changed out all my braid setups to Samurai and took off 832 in doing so and have no regrets. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted February 17, 2013 Super User Posted February 17, 2013 Neither ... I like regular Power Pro. 1 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted February 17, 2013 Super User Posted February 17, 2013 Neither ... I like regular Power Pro. Same here Quote
Jig Meister Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Regular PP, I am trying 832 in 10# on my spinner gear this year in white only because I got it 1/2 off....hard to pass that up! Quote
ClackerBuzz Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Same here x2. i tried the slick but returned it b/c my connection knot kept slipping (braid to fluoro leader). Quote
OkeechobeeAngler Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 There is only one. Power Pro. Quote
Packard Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Cortland Masterbraid if you can find it. If not I like the 832 in Ghost because it doesn't lose its color like the others. Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted February 18, 2013 Super User Posted February 18, 2013 I use regular Power Pro and don't bother with the gimmick's is what I call Super Slick, of course that is just my opinion. Didn't really see much of any difference fishing with the standard and Super 8. I also used Spiderwire too (when it goes on sale), what did you find wrong with Spiderwire? Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted February 18, 2013 Super User Posted February 18, 2013 Regular Power Pro. Quote
BrettD Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I like the PP slick 8 its a lot quieter going through the guides. I have checked out the samurai and it will probably be the next braid I try Ive tried about every one of them. So far 832 and slick 8 are my favorites. Quote

As I see from everyone else its 50/50 between PP and 832. Thanks everyone. Quote

It is a line I have on my radar to try as the feedback I have heard from some very respected anglers is overwhelming positive. I don't fish braid much but I will be trying some before this summer as frog fishing goes in full swing. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 20, 2013 Super User Posted February 20, 2013 Only a couple of braided lines I've used that I didn't care for, as long as the line holds a good knot and is of average strength for it's class, that's good enough for me. Quote
BrettD Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Diawa samurai has on my to try list for a while. I have read nothing but great reviews about it. Quote
