Well its not the Jeep or Subaru I was looking for it was to good of a deal to pass up. Its a 99 Ranger XLT flare side only rust on the whole thing is a little bubble on the drivers side rocker and on the part of the side window that props it open. Only has 87K miles on it just had a tune up and transmission rebuild plus brand new cooper weather master tires all the way around. It needs rear drums, and the front left rotor sticks a little, blower motor resistor, radio and antenna(antenna is this tiny short thing that pics up very little) and the 4x4 needs the vacuum lines replaced or hooked up. Seems like a long list of stuff to fix but probably gonna cost me no more then 1000 considering I can do 100% the work my self I might take it in for the 4x4 to get worked on as I'm not certain that's whats wrong with it just going by what I was told. I paid $400 for it basically the price for the 4 new tires that were put on it a week ago. My soon to be ex father in law sold it to me he is the original owner of it and always babied it. So of the 3000 I budgeted for I'm only 400 into it so it leaves me room for the few easy repairs and maybe a brush guard and another set of rims and tires for summer.

Yup 400 is all he wanted he said if he haddent just put tires on it he'd have just given it to me for free.

I'm probably gonna fix the little bit of rust, put rhino lining on the bed, maybe lift or a leveling kit nothing major, brush guard/bull bumper, new radio and speakers, extra rims and tires, and maybe a few engine mods it had the 4.0L v6.

Once the engine goes I'll probably do a 351 swap or 302..........but I should get another 100,000 out of the engine and tranny.

I had a 2k Ranger 4x4 that was a stud. I beat the crap out of it for about 100k. Sold it to my fil about 5 yrs ago. He's been using it daily on the farm, and it's still kicking. Congrats on the new ride!

He mostly used it for hauling hay around for the horses never towed anything to heavy just round bales and fire wood. It does smell like an ashtray though I need to clean it out real good.

Yeah gas milage sucks in the truck but I have been surfing craigslist for a solution.....an older ninja 636 is cheap could get it with the left over money I had budgeted. The ex wife hates the idea but I don't care lol. Truck for when it's raining or want to go fishing and bike for everything else.

I need to get the 4x4 fixed in it soon it had a hard time getting out of the drive way. I should have my tax return this week to get it fixed. It ha weak power for having the "big" V6 in it I know they did a tune up last summer but they did it them selves and I know the one bank can be a pain to get the plugs out so it got me thinking maybe they didn't do them my FIL is pretty lazy lol. I also doubt they put a new fuel filter on it so I will probably do another complete tune up my self plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter. See if that helps the power issue but it only does about 65 at WOT. I'll get the bugs worked out I'll just take it to the old garage I worked at and get it done. Even with what it needs at 400 of I sink 1000-1500 into it I'm still ahead.

Been looking at some intakes and true full exhaust kits for it maybe a chip to depends what the 4x4 repair runs me it should just be a vacuum issue so not bad.
