Super User Sam Posted January 20, 2013 Super User Posted January 20, 2013 Just curious: what are your favorite flat sided crankbaits? I like the Spros but I know you guys have your favorites. Thanks in advance. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 20, 2013 Global Moderator Posted January 20, 2013 Little Johns, Bandit Flat Maxx, and Thunder shads. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted January 20, 2013 Super User Posted January 20, 2013 Little Johns are a great bait, no doubt they remain one of my favorites . They don't always fit into the flat side classification when you think of other flats like the Bandit or Rapala because the take a little longer to get to depth and really working I really like the DT Flat and the The Jackall baits as well . Both at are well controlled and have very reliable action, both have been very productive for me . Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted January 20, 2013 Super User Posted January 20, 2013 I like the lucky craft with the circuit board lips Quote
gripnrip Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Spro, LC, #5 and #7 shad rap. The shad rap is hard to beat. I always have one tied on in the early spring. Quote
Megastink Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I throw Jawjacker Custom crankbaits. They are whidled, hand made and hand painted in Tennessee. Phenomenal baits. I like balsa baits over plastic. 1 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 20, 2013 Super User Posted January 20, 2013 Spro Little Johns, and Strike King Red eye shads ( in case anyone forgot, they do have flat sides), get the call for me. Quote
gallowaypt Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 What are the advantages of flat sided cranks? Times to use over other cranks? Quote
gripnrip Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 What are the advantages of flat sided cranks? Times to use over other cranks? Flat sided crankbaits have a tighter wobble. They are better in cold water temps and awesome during pre-spawn. Quote

Super User Hooligan Posted January 21, 2013 Super User Posted January 21, 2013 I like the lucky craft with the circuit board lips The Kelly Jordon bait? If that's the one, that bait is phenomenal in current like the Upper Miss. Quote
Christian M Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I really like Rapalas Flat Rap crankbaits, the Yellow Perch pattern has produced some good bass for me over the years. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Luhr Jensen Speed Trap. Tight wobble, sutble vibration, good in clear water. They excel in cooler water but still work very well in warmer stained waters. You can burn this bait and it will not roll. Quote
