Mossyback Or Avid?

Looking for some input in regards to sensitivity between the 6'8" BCR804C and the Avid 7' MHF? Primarily for jigs and maybe the occasional worm.

I have owned rods from both of these lines, and I think the Avid is slightly more sensitive.  I also owned that exact Avid you speak of.  I gave it to my dad as a multipurpose rod.

I have no idea how the two compair to each other, never owned the Loomis, but i am sure it's a fine rod. Loomis has a loyal following, and a great reputation for building quality products that stand the test of time. On the other hand I do have the Avid you ask about, and IMHO it is a great rod for jigs, and worms. That is exactly what I use mine for.

I don't own either rod but have fished both I was not that impressed with the mossyback.for the price point I was hoping for more out of the rod as far as sensitivity. the avid was an excellent rod it was plenty sensitive.

The Avid series is far superior to the Mossyback. G. Loomis really starts at IMX.

Mossyback by like 1000% on that. It has a XF taper that is designed for fishinig jigs and soft plastics, and it makes a huge difference in terms of sensitivity. The Mossybacks actually run about .5 power stouter than usual b/c of the extra fast taper....you will probably find the BCR 853 to be plenty powerful for jigs up to 1/2 ounce. I've fished both back before I got into more expensive stuff, and it's no contest, the Loomis is a far more sensitive rod.

I have both and think the Mosseyback is the better rod.
